This series is so cute! I like seeing Tommy and Ba Da interact, and they complement each other well with their personalities and differences. Also, the simplicity of the story is a refreshing change from a lot of longer, more dramatic (for lack of a better word) BLs that have been coming out.
Also, I'm super happy to see that Holland is playing Tommy! Not a lot of BLs have openly gay actors in their cast, so this is another refreshing thing about this series!
How did Christian go from weeping over his lost love to forgiving his father for separating them to smiling happily…
It really seems to be a reflection of Filipino culture. Filipinos will forgive and tolerate literally anyone if they're related or have an important social connection. Christian probably doesn't realize it's an option to not forgive his father, and Bogs probably owes Pepay for something in the past. I don't know. That's how I'm reading the situation.
Personally I think the Kelly and Pepay characters are obnoxiously way over the top and not in a good way. I'm…
I really liked the series at first, but then the story started to lag, and like you said, the side characters were just so uninspired, and now the drama feels like it's meandering towards some random ending of some kind... Honestly, I feel like Pepay could be redeemed as a character if they gave her an actual backstory instead of just throwing her in to be creepy and intrusive. Like, she's a transwoman living in the province. I would want a story about what her life is like. But, all we get to see is her trying to sabotage Christian's and Bogs's relationship. Too bad. :(
You are totally right! This drama was preachy, bland, cliche, not much happening, and was clearly written by someone who thought he was a Messiah for LGBTQIA+ people. I didn't hate the drama itself, and there were parts I genuinely liked, but it did not deserve the hype it got, and it had massive problems in the scriptwriting. Now, if it really were an absurdist play, it would probably be a lot funnier. Let's rewrite GSP and do the absurdist version! :D
No fair! I want to have a pillow fight! But seriously, Aunt Kelly needs better conflict resolution methods. She turned into Sue Sylvester this last episode.

And Kota displays Oscar-level facial expressions! XD
If you like boring dramas for grown-ups, no.
Haha!
