-It is understandable on HJP's part to take it all to himself. First, remember that he is an orphan. All his connection with affection basically started with Grandma. Of course he would protect her no matter what. This not just about HJP and SDM. Thus, for me, his action and reaction regarding this is totally not just considering SDM but also he's trying to protect some semblance of filial piety he has.

From the premise of HJP's persona, from what was introduced up to what was shown by the drama, he clarified that what NDS did starting from the connection party was mostly NDS's decision. What does this mean? That from that point, it was NDS's true feelings and he was saying and admitting in his own way that NDS had show SDM his, NDS's, true feelings. HJP telling SDM his feelings was his way of freeing himself from the lies akin to NDS admitting to his parents that he cheated. I believe that was the recurring theme for ep 9 and 10, freedom/release from the lies.
Not everything is black and white in this drama you know.
