And i said i really liked this in the starting, it doesn't mean I don't now. It was because of this that i became interested in original sources. I look towards this as a interpretation of the director of this show, and yes it's GOOOD. After all they had delete a lot of things from the original due censor and Dylan Wang's image(I'm his fan too). For example the Xu Qian in the novel often go to brothel and is known as the king of brothel due him being wanted by all top courtesan due to his poetic talent. He tries to persue Cai wei and want to bacome the son-in-law of astronomical bureau( as she is the disciple of head of the bureau) He also first made contact with the first princess first , unlike the drama. and he oftens tries to juggle between the two princesses. He calls this "his pond of fishes" PS: I'm not trying to disrespect any lady/women . I just explained the character of the Xu qian in the original work

Though they have skipped a lot and its understandable and it doesn't really have BIG impact on the story but from what i saw in ep 24 , was disappointed as Xu Qian's death was much grand in the comic, and the impact of it too. For example when this news was given in the court, Wei was so shocked that he didn't even heard the emperor calling his name three times. and when he slapped the ministers slandering Xu, instead of just behaving like he owns the courts, we were shown that he's smart enough to give logical reasons for those slaps. The death of Xu was so underwhelming here that for a moment I though , oh ! just get over with it. unlike here, in the comic, i had goosebumps, in the comic he died while reciting a poem about promise while protecting a court Censor , gold gong Jiang and some other silver and copper gongs. He alone defeated 200 rebel soldiers of yunzhou and his body was covered with sword slashes as well numerous arrows but he died while standing, holding his sword with both of his hands and placing it on the ground, Oh and also he did this all, while in the 8th realm, whereas in drama , he's in 7th realm already. His death actually helped him strengthen his spirit to reach the 7th realm. and also that thing that he did during imperial temple explosion case , to be awake for ten days to reach 7th realm, was actually done during yunxhou case, where he actually was awake for whole 15 days due to his strong spirit(this actually lead to him being haggard during the whole arc). You all should check out the comic its english translated till chapter 51 and then you can either read machine translated on SNOWMTL or you can search on youtube , there're some videos of translated comic chapters.

We're only shown ML' team at the station, that's not the whole force of the station, that's a team of police officers assigned to a murder case. 2. Wen Peng, though businessmen was actually a doctor, he studied business abroad after becoming doctor in China. He was working under Dr. Han at that hospital, everybody knows him. Moreover, if you remember every time he has came to hospital and FL asked for his purpose, he replied that he's meeting with either dr. Han or meeting with other doctors(personally or professionally). Why I believe this to be the reason for him to roam around the hospital freely? because ML always calls for FL from outside the staff room , the only time he went inside was when, he gifted her the silk banner(that I think has deeper professional meaning in china) . 3. It is already known that Deng Man ki**ed herself .Though we know that's not the case, but police and everyone in the show doesn't know she was murdered. Remember, they linked this case with FL and Deng Man not because Deng Man was killed there, but because Deng Man ki**ed herself at the same spot where Qian Qian was killed along with recent sighting of someone looking like Deng Man.

I think Jiang Cheng's mother might be Wen Peng's mother as well. In the scene where teenage Wen Peng looked for his mother, the woman mentioned the police academy to her child(that I presume to be our ML), and she bears a resemblance to Mrs. Cheng Yi. However, I couldn't find a connection between her and the message Wen Peng received in his phone about taking care of himself due to the cold in New York.
