Not really incest because no blood relation, I wouldn't care if it was, I don't see it as messed up IF and only IF its consensual which this one was, at least at parts, not. Two full blood bros can't even have kids together and inbreeding is the only negative thing that makes incest taboo to me because its not good for genetic diversity. Hell its the reason incest became taboo to begin with, a MEDICAL reason not just some lame social/cultural/religious reason. But two biological males can't get each other pregnant lol and as long as they are brothers or sisters or cousins, close in age (no power dynamic imbalance) and they are both consenting, then kewl. I wouldn't be against bro/sis or hetero cousins if they used protection but its still super risky and I'm gay so I'm not into het-couples anyways but that's my own bias.

I wouldn't even have a problem with full blood brothers, they can't have children together anyways. BL doesn't have the balls to do that but they have the balls for sexual harassment and rape lol. Consensual incest isn't a big deal to me, not something I'd personally do but who cares as long as its consensual which these two were not and that was the part that pissed me off personally.

Honestly I don't get the fake age gape? The actors are pretty much the same age (27 and 23). They say middle-aged, but middle-aged is 40+ and Akira doesn't look even 30, cuz he's not haha! I guess I'd rather have a fake age gap than a real one but I just think they should have not exaggerated the age gap so much cuz its kinda unbelievable? I think doing that would make Pete a less sympathetic character to a lot of people, I certainly would think less of him if he had NO remorse about it and wouldn't root for him like I did.
Watched this again after watching ITSAY again. Its very different (at least for me) watching these back-to-back then watching them separately with about a year in between like I originally did. This series really upset me the first time I watched it, I still liked it but it made me so mad too lol. But watching them back-to-back made me empathize with Teh more (even tho I still wanted to slap him) and made me really love this season as I do the first. Oh's development is amazing, I always liked him, I like him even more. He was a constant reason I continued watching during the most difficult parts the first time I watched because I so wanted to see him happy. His friends are amazing, without them Oh would have truly felt alone and I'm so glad he had the support he both needed and definitely deserved! And yes I did totally ghost-ship Q and Oh haha! Teh made me mad (kudos to the actor) and I was so frustrated with him at so many points, but I could never doubt his love for oh. Oh there were times where it was shaky for me but deep down I knew that they had some force binding them together that would always bring them back to each other. Teh is a character that when confused emotionally makes stupid mistakes, and that can get annoying but its very human. No series has made me cry as much as this and ITSAY for so many different reasons. I really enjoyed this even more my 2nd time watching. I generally knew what was coming, I was prepared (still wrecked me but didn't shock me). Watching them together you really see the development vividly, how no matter what happens, they are drawn together and, at least for me, made me truly appreciate their love even more. It suffered so many setbacks, toxic and devastating. But even when they got lost in that storm, they still made it through and found each other again in the sunlight. I love the fluff of BL but I truly appreciate masterpieces like these that take us out of our comfort zone and tells us an honest story that I'm sure many can relate to.
BTW I loved seeing Bas again even if it was only for a little. Even years later and he's still that saintly sage of wisdom and compassion. I adore him!

He didn't know he liked guys at first in ITSAY, he's most likely bisexual. In fact some bisexual/pan people go threw a period early in their lives where they think they are only attracted to one gender so they see themselves as straight/gay but then meet that person that makes them realize more about themselves. After that realization, it becomes easier for that person to recognize their feelings when having interest in someone of that gender they didn't know they were into at first. Sorry if I worded that confusingly lol! Doesn't excuse the cheating, ugh the worst part and poor Oh, I cried so much for him both in ITSAY and this one. Teh frustrated me so much at times, its like he couldn't see what a perfect boyfriend he had until almost and then actually losing him. I know people make mistakes, but hurting Oh just grinds my gears! He's such a good and loving person, I adore him! The actor PP was absolutely amazing! Others were great too but he really stood out for me :)

Bas is beautiful, Bas is best! He is my favorite 2nd love interest of all time! The absolute perfect guy, amazing friend, wonderful person! That confession was so good and so brave! I felt so bad for him, but I admire him like no other. You said it best, his love for Oh was so pure and true! This is only my second time watching this series but its still hitting me as hard as the first time. I'm constantly grabbing for tissues. One of the most beautiful series I've ever watched! I love all the other characters as well, Oh is definitely a favorite! But Bas is a saint, the best!
If you are looking for BL, don't waste your time. China and their stupid homophobic commie laws take all the BL out because Xi the Pooh is a manlet who is so insecure with his "masculinity" that he has to come down hard on gay stuff because he's a fragile little princess with Stalin's red hand up his ass. I'll be happy when artists, hell people in general in China can express themselves openly and freely without dictatorial government overreach, if it ever happens. And I hope it does.

I hate Vee, but the main guy from Dark Blue and Moonlight, Su Hai Qing, WORST protagonist for a BL I've ever had the misfortune of watching, I wanted his character to get hit by a car and die in agony I hated him that much lol!
