Try going to Dailymotion, that's where I normally go to view English subbed movies and series episodes. I type in the search "engsub BL" without quotes of course, and you should find something you like. I watch mainly Thai and other East Asian BLs and Dailymotion has a LOT of them! But you can find other BL's on Dailymotion as well. :)

Ahh thank you! I'll have to check that out :D. I absolutely love SOTUS! I do prefer the BL parts but I can also get into the main story, like Bad Romance was one that I pretty much liked watching everyone's story. Another was Slamdance which had VERY LITTLE BL but still had a great story.

I need to learn Thai so I don't have to wait for English Subs lmao! I watched the first ep in Thai and I only understood a little of what was going on. I only know a few Thai phrases :(

You are so right! I had forgotten about her and now I remember why! LMAO yes because the Violinist guy was like "But I was RAPED!" and she's so aloof!!! She basically tells him in so many words that he was lucky to get raped. But there are some Japanese gems out there too. One Japanese BL film I REALLY liked (even though the ending and future status of relationship is ambiguous) was Hidamari ga Kikoeru. I also liked the Takumi Series even though it had its cringey moments lol.

Oh yes I agree that both Takumi and 2Moons are great shows! Lol 2Moons is absolutely adorable! I'm definiely looking forward to a second season! 2Moons is very happy for the most part, but Takumi can be pretty sad at times. I'm think Part 2 where that friend of their's dies. I always tear up at that part, especially since his new boyfriend couldn't be with him on his deathbed. But his boyfriend was at least able to project that rainbow (cuz the guy was into fractals and bending light) into his hospital room and he saw it before he died.

OMG My Bromance the Series has become my FAVORITE series! SOTUS was my fav for a while but My Bromance stole my heart, I absolutely love it! Yes Thai and Taiwan films are awesome! I love their sense of humor and cultures! I'd have to say my favorite South Korea BL is Long Time No See. It has a happy ending and its an action themed show which you don't see in BL as often. And of course the 2 leads are amazing and so cute together! I have high hopes for China, not Xi's China, but the Chinese people themselves. Sad endings are only good (although still heartbreaking) when done well. You can't treat it flippantly or force it because a law demands it. It has to be natural to the story. I watched an Italian BL called One Kiss. *SMALL SPOILER AHEAD IN QUOTES* ----> "It was funny, fun, beautiful and horridly tragic. It dealt with death in the appropriate way but still I will never watch it again because it disturbed me deeply and made me cry way too much lol"

I have some Filipino friends and I was actually surprised to find out how open their attitudes actually are! Most former colony nations are homophobic but that's not the norm in the Phillipinnes apparently :D. Vietnam, from what my BF has told me, is similar to the US. You find more people that are ok with it and a few who aren't. I've been talking with him about Vietnam recently to learn more about his original home country. Yes most Islamic nations are anti-gay, anti-women also. Orthodoxy tends to be misogynistic, and I think alot of homophobia stems from sexism -- the idea that a gay man makes men in general look more "effiminate", aka female in their minds.

Exactly! There are plenty of LGBT patriots, the Phillippines which we talked about is one were there a great number. LGBT can be good, bad, generous, greedy, ect ect ect. A human is a human after all, we are all individuals working together as a collective, albeit not working so well at times lol.

Oh my! Yes that would have terrified me too as a child. Facing your fears is something you have to do on your own, you cannot be forced into it otherwise the trauma can become worse, as you are not in control of the situation.

Don't hate me but I avoided Right or Wrong because I don't personally approve of significant age gaps for any gender or sexuality. I don't think its gross (unless the younger is not of concenting age), but I think a relationship between a senior and a junior is unbalanced. The senior is in a position of power and authority (like a teacher to a student, parent to child, cop to civilan, boss to employee), also it can be difficult for two people of different generations to relate. When its a 10 year difference, not a big deal to me. But if its 20 years? I dunno, I wanna be open-minded but I personally don't enjoy that type of BL, but I'm very glad you enjoyed it! I love the History series so I like it when others do to because it supports them making more! :D

I watched Stay Away From Me first, and I liked it. Not exactly the ending I wanted but I though it dealt with many important subjects. I then watched My Hero and although I liked it the least of the three, I still enjoyed it. I first got mad because I was like "this girl just killed this poor boy and took his body!!!" lmao but in the end when she learned the boy she killed loved her former boyfriend, she returned his body to him which made it a good ending for me. Then I watched Obsessed and I loved it! The leads are so cute, the kiss scenes are WAY better than I expected (maybe a little rapey) lol but still more passionate than I thought they would be. I like how he does what he can to avoid his love but it apparently was simply meant to be haha!

I recently watched History 2 Crossing the Line (Borders) and that one was AWESOME! One of my new favorites now! I typically don't like sports-oriented shows but they got me into Volleyball! lol playing it with friends that is. If you haven't seen it yet then I think you will like it and should check it out :D.

Oh I want to travel so bad! My BF wants to take me to Vietnam in the future and I can't wait! Hope it all worked out as money and time can be issues here and there :/.

Advance Bravley and Addicted were two Chinese BLs that I actually liked that weren't bromanced, cut ALL romance (although they cut alot but I found the cuts online hehehe!), or killed one of them at the end.

Oh I forgot about that! Hmm, I guess Tong's feelings towards Donut had changed after he realized that he was in love with Mew. It could have been that Tong was actually gay and not bi, and by becoming close to Mew made him realize that he could no longer maintain a hollow relationship with Donut, EVEN if he also couldn't have a relationship with Mew because his mother wouldn not accept it. Its something to ponder at least lol.

@TianQi That was VERY interesting to read! Thank you for informing us about China! I wasn't aware of many of the things you mentioned so this was really nice to find out about. I had always assumed the Chinese PEOPLE were more accepting and inclusive than the government, good to know its true! Addicted and Advanced Bravely are actually my favorite of the Chinese BL lmao!!!

Anyways I completely agree with you and OMG I love Takumi-kun series!!! I just recently watched it again! And I've only watched History 2 Crossing the Boundaries (or something like that) of those two and I loved it!!! The leads were adorable together!

My BF is Vietnamese and he was born left handed, but his mom forced him to use his right hand and it affected his creativity. I agree that Marxism often prefers a conformity that can stifle creative expression.

So true! So many series that I'd LOVE to see a 2nd season to have never continue the story! So many get canceled, but this has slightly changed recently however as attitudes towards the LGBT+ communities become more accepting and BL becomes a little more popular. Here's hoping that What the Duck, and my FAVORITE BL My Bromance, get their 2nd seasons as has been announced!!! :D

I think in time, China will become a more inclusive country. South Korea is well on their way and better than they have been before on LGBT+ acceptance. Japan is similar to the US, but slightly better in general I think. Thailand and Taiwan are truly allies to acceptance and open-mindedness. Unfortunately, I do not know about the attitudes towards the LGBT+ in other countries in the area with BL, like Philippines or Vietnam. But I hope to learn more about Vietnam from my BF.

Lol I've often felt humanity was beyond hope, but an event or even one person can change my mind about that and revive my spirit. :)

For a Chinese BL, I like it. Sure there isn't much in the way of open romance, but you know its there hidden. I love how this is a period specific show in the past. The outfits are amazing and the acting well done imo.

Disturbing, I was hoping for a romance and I got a one-way romance and rape! One of the guys, even though he's the effeminate one, isn't even gay or at least he says he's not a "homo". There's no one to root for! Lol one guy is a rapist, and the other uses terms like homo so I'm guessing he's not too keen on gays (unless that was simply a bad translation). I dunno, I wouldn't recommend it because I found it a little offensive. The gay guy just CAN'T help himself when he falls in love with a straight guy, so rapes him. I guess the only things about this movie I really liked was the classical music and both leads were good-looking.

As for South Korea, yeah most of the BL's I've seen have either a lot of love scenes but little romance lol. I guess I prefer romance between the two. Also every South Korea BL I've seen, with the exception of Night Spa... Spa Night or whatever lol (boring), has a rape scene in it. Like Night Flight for example. I like the movie but man its gritty! Lots of crazy fight scenes and not in a funny way like in Dangerous Boys haha!

As for China, I don't know because it isn't religion (Christianity and Islam mainly) that condemns the LGBT like in South Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia and Myanmar (Burma). But then communists have traditionally not been a fan of the LGBT so maybe that's it. At least the Chinese people in general are more or less accepting / tolerant of the LGBT. Lol geopolitics...

Thai and Taiwanese BL's are my favorites because the people are more accepting and film makers have WAY more freedom to produce a LGBT film or series. Japan is an open and kind society too, but I tend to think their BL movies are over-the-top. I did see one recently that had a near deaf guy in it that I really liked. Not overly dramatic and very cute.

Philippines BL that I've seen is weird (ie Boy) or really sad/disturbing (ie Antonio's Secret). But I've only seen those two so I won't judge based on that.

But altogether I prefer Central/South American and East/Southeast Asian BL's to North American and European ones. Not that I don't like the BL's made here in the US and across the pond though. I've seen many German, French and British BL's that I really enjoyed as well.

I love uplifting BL's, and my favorites are the coming of age, self-discovery variants where a teen or young adult realizes their sexuality and then the journey they go on to find understanding, acceptance and love. I especially like the films that focus on character development and not just plot material and exposition. I know those films / series tend to move at a slower pace but I personally prefer that type :P.

Lol but I could go on! Live and let live, all intolerance and bigotry comes from learned behaviors, ignorance and deflection. No one is born a bigot, so as the world comes further out of its ignorance, step by step, the children will be taught hate less and less.

This season was not as good as the first. In the first season Gus had a better hairstyle AND a way better boyfriend. Gus pissed me off, first he breaks up with poor Top because Top's mother is a homophobe. Then he gets with Boring McBlankFace, they break up after Top shows up in Gus' life again, and then asshole Gus breakup up with Top AGAIN for that Underdeveloped Blandstern! I've lost my enthusiasm to see this series threw, if fickle Gus chooses Mr. Uninteresting over the cute, kind and surprisingly PATIENT Top then that's it for me all. Top is way more developed, affectionate and he needs Gus as his mother is an intolerant bigot. And why is Gus more flamboyant in this season? Sure he was in the first, but in this one he seems over-the-top. I don't mind flamboyance if its consistent but he's almost like a different person. Do people really change THAT fast in just 2 years? Top didn't, still adorable and a sweetheart as ever! Poor Top :(

I have avoided Grey Rainbow simply because I heard it ended very sad. And I'm very wary of Chinese BL because of how totalitarian President Xi is and how anti-gay (anti-fun in general) the CPC is. In my experience, if I want a Chinese BL... I just watch Taiwanese BL like the History Series'.

I have also watched The Way He Looks and I totally agree! It's most definitely one of my favorite BL movies! A very touching story with a satisfying ending that gets me to watch it again and again!

Lol I was being a little self-deprecating by saying I'm an American who always gets what they want (aka spoiled American) lmao! And maybe I should have specifically said French/Italian instead of European because their movies usually have sad / bittersweet endings. But yes I tend to expect Thai movies / sitcoms to have happy endings because so many of them do.

Very cute and touching movie! A lot of the gay Japanese dramas I've seen tend to be over-the-top or have weird plots. This did was not and did not, very sweet movie!
