Just found out these two are going to be paired up on another project and I'm so excited 😆 Although it's a movie and not a series, I'm still very much looking forward to it! It's currently in the process of filming as of now so maybe we'll see it next year. Hope people who loved WDBTD support WYL and AC's movie too.

Finally watching this and damn! Yang Zi and Tan Jian Ci's chemistry is making it so hard to ship Xiao Yao with Tushan Jing. Please give the two a project where they're the main CP! I haven't finished watching but have been spoiled with the ending (thus made me avoid this drama for so long), and I just can't move on from Xiang Liu not being the endgame! In my opinion, this drama is a bit overrated on this site. I want to rant so bad on how Xiao Yao can't let go of Tushan Jing after he disappointed her so many times.

I agree with people saying it got draggy in the middle and at that point I was only watching to see the angst that is between Li Shuang and Prince An'an. Oh how I wish we saw more of their dynamic! I am really a sucker for Enemies to Lovers. Especially if there's a past connection. Now I need another good drama to watch. Any recommendations?

Thank god I waited until my LOTFG fever subsided before watching this because if I hadn't, their chemistry wouldn't have hit me like it did now. ZY and CL's was just so unforgettable I still haven't moved on but this drama's chemistry was actually pretty good. Story wise, it was more interesting (but I prefer LOTFG because I'm biased). Also, I loved seeing this side of CL's acting. An actor that can pull of different personalities in one drama is top tier. And despite some mess on the plot, I still managed to enjoy this enough to give it a solid 8+.

Damn! ML's sister is sooo annoying! Her type of character is what I hate the most in a story! I'm still in the middle of the show so I'm not sure if she'll have character development but so far, all her suffering is the result of her own choices. I can't even blame the 2ML cause he gave her many opportunities to leave so watching her blame him made my blood boil and I hate the 2ML so much! The actress did a great job portraying her role.

Is the female lead dubbed or is that the actress' real voice cause if it is dubbed, I think they chose poorly. Her voice doesn't suit her and it's bugging me a little while watching the trailer.

God! This show gave me the worst case of second lead syndrome! 😫 I really dropped it because it. The chemistry and their storyline is so much better than what XY has with TJ. (Of course this is a personal opinion though I think many agree with me). Also thank god I didn't develop a bias against Deng Wei cause his character was not giving what I hoped for in this. I watched Love of the Divine Tree and he was so much better. I fell in love with him there. Hope to see more of him too.

Before I continue, can anyone tell me if this has Good or Bad Ending? And who dies? I need to mentally and emotionally prepare myself cause I'll definitely get attached with the charactera.

Ooh! So it was like that! I totally misunderstood their explanation. So He Yan's father is also just an adoptive father. That explains a lot. I figured the way He Yan wanted her father's recognition so much was because he was her actual biological father. Thank you for the explanation!

A quick question! I just couldn't understand the whole adoptive/stepbrother thing! So, He Yan's original brother died young or maybe soon after being born(?) and then they adopted a boy so her father can keep his title cause he'd have an heir. What I don't get is why didn't he adopt a healthy boy intead of making his daughter act/become his son since the adopted one was sickly? Like the dude was greedy as hell and I can definitely tell he didn't care about the children. He barely reacts to He Yan's death knowing it was all his doing that made her suffer and she's his blood-related daughter! So can someone tell if I missed a detail? Also I forgot to mention above that another thing I wished they explored was He Rufei's relationship with their mother. Like there's obvious something there since the only time he ever reacted emotionally was with her. Ughhh! So many wasted things!

Ahhh! It was sooo good until the last couple of episodes. I feel like Chu Zhao's thing could have been a side plot instead of the ending finale. There so many things unexplored in the story! We didn't get to see He Yan use her whip (that Xiao Jue got her from the festival)! We didn't get more time with He Yan's soldier crew! We didn't get to see the execution of He Rufei and Xu Jingfu! Also it would have been more interesting to see He Yan in her General Feihong mode on more. Like the Wutou King or whatever should have been the finale boss. I liked the idea of He Yan being the one to save Xiao Jue in their finale battle but that finale just felt lacking. But regardless, it was a good 8.5 for me personally cause I'm a little bit biased because of the mulan vibes, badass and ruthless FL we don't usually get, and the actors addicting chemistry.

Thanks for the reply! I have actually read the novel just didn't finish it so I watched the last 10 episodes and yeah, I was into Shen Li and Xing Zhi's story. I don't remember having second lead syndrome when I read it so it is kinda weird. I do love the male lead's mischievous side like that scene underwater. It's cute. 🥰

It must be because I've watched and read too many enemies to lovers trope but am I the only one getting second male lead syndrome on this show?

I've watched up to episode 9 (the time I wrote this comment) but have been spoiled on the last 10 episodes. Still! I just find the Angst between fl and sml more appealing. Good luck on me watching the next episodes!

Yes! I agree. I personally didn't read the novel so I could enjoy the show on its own but I'll be a bit mad if the story isn't good. We should at least get some cool and badass fight scenes, specially for our FL.

Finally!!! I've been waiting for ages! I can already tell that we're getting yet another badass female lead 😍 This might be the first drama I'll watch without waiting for all the episodes to be released cause I'm just so excited to watch this!

⚠️ Warning: RANT about the ending

Seriously Director, Writer, or whomever wrote their endings... WTF IS WRONG WITH YOUUU!? They literally went, "I wonder how many couples with a bad ending are we doing? 💡 oh wait— all of them!"

No other show has given me chest pain like what this show did and I haven't even watched the last 6 episodes! I just seen clips of their deaths and the ending and my chest hurts damn it! Just why?!

I get wanting to do a sad ending but this! It wasn't sadness but depression and pain! The actors were so good! If it weren't for them, I wouldn't have watched this in the beginning.

I watched this knowing the ending and bruhh 😭 No matter how I prepare myself, I can't watch the last 6 episodes. So I'mma put this on hold until the third show in the series comes out. If you want to watch this, I recommend it. It's way better than the first show, "Red-Moon Pact" and the chemistry between the characters are much better. I just hope the last installment in the Fox Spirit Matchmaker Universe gives a satisfying ending.

A solid 8/10. Maybe higher but not a 9. So, for those hesitating to watch this drama because of the reviews and ratings, I suggest you watch it and judge for yourself. Despite the hate this drama got because the fake kisses, to me it didn't matter if they kissed for real or not. In fact, some of their "kiss" actually made me squeal more than couples from other shows' real kiss scenes. The chemistry between the two lead in this drama are to scream for. Their flirting alone put butterflies in my stomach and made me blush. There's no toxicity in their relationship. No annoying misunderstandings that could have been resolved by proper communication. No third party or cheating, and just pure fluff mixed with a slow burn romance. This is a feels good drama. Underrated and recommended. 👍
