From the video, you can see a hand at the side of the horse and another hand with the blade on top of the horse. Xie Huai An was hanging from the side of the horse lol. I was still wondering how he teleported.
GUYSSS I am so dumb. I just read the synopsis of the plot here and I realised Han Ziling is not dead? And that Xie Huai An has an alliance with General Gu Yu, the guy on the wheelchair?? I'm so excited to see how this plays out omg I feel like the revenge plot is just the tip of the iceberg.
If this is very obvious to you, please ignore my dumb self 😅🤣
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think this time slot is good. People could be getting off from work and have a shower…
What is the timing of the first prime time slot you said? So far, I think the current time slot is pretty good. I am already very happy that the drama aired on 12/12 and on a weekend, which is a really good date! And it's even airing on CCTV.
A possible reason why this drama aired at a later timing could be that it is a revenge drama, more brutal. So 9.30PM on CCTV makes sense as young children will be asleep.
I think he’s absolutely an evil guy. In the first instance because he murdered his boss, but in the second instance,…
That is very true!! I don't necessarily think he can be a good guy but I was thinking more of if he had a true goal/motive that is not just about power. That of course doesn't excuse his terrible actions but it's interesting to see that many people who worked under him are so capable and does merely threatening their families cause these capable people to submit? I could be so wrong on this though, like he could be just a big bad guy who is power hungry but I always appreciate more depth in characters haha
This is youku's one of the most anticipated dramas, why they don't air it in their prime time slot?? They air it…
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think this time slot is good. People could be getting off from work and have a shower before watching the drama? As for time zones differences, it happens with any time slot.
Does Huai A not know martial arts? Considering he’s a scholar. He really just stood there like 🧍♀️while…
Yes, he is not an overall fighter. I heard that out of all CY's characters, Xie Huai An is the only character who cannot fight/ doesn't know martial arts. But since the drama has not finished airing, there's nothing 100% confirmed yet.
Is it a hot take that I feel like General Yan Fengshan might not necessarily be an evil guy? We haven't seen him appear yet but I feel like he may be a grey character. The Huben Army has so many talents and shadow guards. Yan Fengshan must be extraordinary for them to fear him/ be loyal to him. He done a lot of bad things though but I wonder what may be his true goal. This show has so many mysteries. I finished the current 6 episodes but I can't stop thinking about the plot and characters.
i love ep 5 and 6 they showed huai an vulnerability so far soo good!
I really like the part after he killed Liu Ziyan. I don't know how to describe Xie Huai An's expression after he killed Liu Ziyan but it wasn't happiness after killing one's enemy. I'm still wondering what it means.
The deposed Emperor has a rage in him. Give him an ax and he will chop wood or kill. His chopping wood helps him…
Oh yes I haven't forgiven him for Zhang Mo's death either but I understand his perspective. Being a puppet emperor who has been too used to living a life of luxury probably contributed to his resentment and lack of regard for others' lives. Of course, understanding his perspective doesn't mean I agree with what he did! He definitely has a lot more room for growth and redemption (if any)!
The deposed Emperor is quite funny now. Actually I really like the complexity of his character. I don't necessarily like him yet but he's neither too dumb or smart. I feel like he's in between. Some of the stuff he says are quite smart but some of his actions are quite dumb. He knows how to yield to the strong in order to survive but he's also impulsive and acts on his feelings (e.g., when he killed Zhang Mo). His conversation with Xie Huai An gave him a little more depth. He killed Zhang Mo out of jealousy and frustration that Zhang Mo can be free while he cannot. But this doesn't mean he is inherently a bad guy. After learning more about Zhang Mo and his family, he regretted his actions but it's too late. He comes off to me as immature and impulsive but not inherently evil.
The 83 years old thing made me think what if Xiao Wenjing gets back his throne and really become a good emperor in the end? Will he grow to become a good ruler and live a long life? Because I don't see how else he will live till 83 years old unless the prediction is false. I'm interested to see how his character develops. I hope he doesn't become a bad guy and betray Huai An...
Wow I just watched episode 5 and 6 and damn, it's insane. Xie Huai An is ruthless and scary. But I do understand him :') I don't know what the ending of this show will be but I really hope Xie Huai An can be happy (though it's highly unlikely 😭).
Isn’t Qing Yi’s face kind of scary? The shape of the ends of his eyebrows is unusual and the eyebrow area…
Lmao yes I think so too. But that's why he is the perfect actor for the role of Qing Yi 😂 His hoarse voice also acts to the character. I feel creeped out whenever I see and hear him.
Does An know the funeral man was also Huben soldier ?
Yes! Their relationship is very complicated. He saved him to use him in his revenge but at the same time, he shed a tear for him.
When Huai An was young, the first cup of wine he ever drank was given to him by Pu Nichuan. After his family's downfall, he never drank any wine offered to him by Pu Nichuan. When Pu Nichuan died, he poured the jar of wine onto the ground, which I think was to symbolise that the grudges between them are over?
Yes!! However, as a massive fan of NiF, I can already tell both shows are very different despite some surface similarities. Very interested to see how this one plays out.
Cheng Yi's haters (aka shrimps) are at it again, they're all giving this drama 1 stars on IMDb. I know the drama…
Well, I have to say I am very impressed that the haters actually keep tabs on Cheng Yi lol. I think some of Cheng Yi's fans don't even know that this drama aired, but the haters are always preparing in advanced. Sometimes I wonder, do they secretly love Cheng Yi, they focus so much attention on him 🤣 Anyways, IMDb has now become a tool. People should not rely on ratings, but watch clips of the show themselves to see if it's their cup of tea!
