you should watch Empress Ki, kdrama. Its quite similar, lots of scheming... the poor girl becomes an empress! But towards this path everyone wants to bring her down.She is also a tough character, and of course a love triangle.

yeah but you don't know about the journey it took for the characters to get to the ending... this is why we watch drama.

if you liked this, you might also like Devil Judge, Ji Sung is the Male lead. It is also a revenge drama. Many twists and turns and the ending is spectacular. Another brilliant drama and the acting was superb.

China is a lot about collectivism not individualism. Most don't want to stand out unlike in the West, where people want to be noticed for being unique and different. Many asian countries have a group mentality, they will sometimes look the same, wear the same clothes, like the same things. It is the culture and history. However younger chinese actors are becoming more individual and unique. You will see coloured hair, make up, piercings, fashion accesories. Hawick Lau is from older generation, more traditional. He will tend to fall back in his old ways and pattern.

i think its because they all speak different dialects. China is huge and varied. Many actors do dub themselves.

Yeah SWAK is definitely not everyone’s cup of tea. I didn’t mind my heart twinkle twinkle. Yes he’s definitely red flag ML, but I like an antihero.

You might enjoy Secret ( 2013) kdrama. it has Happy ending.

The confidence and Unexpected falling . Watch them in this order. Same actors. Similar characters. These drama are not related officially but you will recognise some things from 1st drama in the 2nd drama. ML is a villain.

Xie Wei should have known martial arts since he grew up in dangerous circumstances, you would think he would want to know how to fight. Martial artists don’t need weapons. They can jump, kick, levitate etc… it’s the writer or creators of this drama that didn’t think through. Like in joy of life, the ML is considered scholar but he learned martial arts early. Of course it’s very different drama. But I find Chinese drama always make some leads intentionally weak, usually it’s the females.

Also if watch The confidence and then Unexpected falling - you will get to see the happy ending. These two cdrama are not continuation of previous drama but same actors, same director, and you will see some things from 1st drama in the 2nd drama. The characters are similar. ML is the villain but is a bit nicer in the 2nd drama.

Drama with actor Hawick Lau ‘ sealed with a kiss’ he is a psycho abusive possessive overly jealous. And yes there is an actual R* scene. Hawick Lau is amazing actor, good looking.

Another costume kdrama I remembered. ‘Moon lovers scarlet heart Ryo’ definitely similar red flag vibes. ML says similar things like ‘you belong to me’ ‘you are mine’. Lots of eye candy, many good looking actors there. ML is a Prince with a scar on his face so he wears a mask. FL Is reincarnated from modern times, while she is in coma, her soul ends up in a body of young girl 1000 years back. Interesting drama . There is a Chinese version of this with 2 seasons that the Korean was based on.

Note: sad ending. There was meant to be season 2 with modern theme and them meeting again in modern era but it didn’t do well in Korea so they abandoned it. However this drama did well internationally.

I don’t understand the abbreviations. Do you mean Sexual assault? There is attempted ones. And if you are fan of Xiao Zhan. He is 2nd ML in the wolf.

i'm watching this drama, episode 37. The ML and 2nd ML standing to the side while there is full on fight going on around them and they can't do anything to help themselves. Makes no sense that neither of them can fight. At least ML should have learned martial arts, as he was raised by that war lord Pingnan. Sometimes such detail in chinese drama makes no sense

I’m watching Story of Kunning palace. It’s slow burn. And there is no real love triangle. ML in this drama is 2nd ML there

Honestly I am team Yan Lin. Zhang Zhe is too moody, he looks depressed half of the time. ML Xie Wei too aggressive with constant scheming. Yan Lin is hot, fun loving and knows how to fight while the other two don't. Yan Lin is good mix of everything. Honestly I think I'll find some drama with him as ML. I really liked his looks

Who is ZLY?

He’s involved with Wan’er only. He marries her. No involvement with anyone else. Duo duo is just a friend. Silili is no show in season 2. I believe in the book it’s different. He has a harem with several women which was a norm back then.
