I feel like he’s low-key hinting that his next drama might be a modern, non-idol one. Maybe it’s just me, but non-idol drama always gives me the vibe of a more serious, story-driven project.

How you became a fan is actually very similar to how I became one, even though I was definitely late to the Chen Zheyuan train. Lol. I first caught him in the Hidden Love trailer and thought he was really cute, but I passed on it because the genre isn't my usual preference. The second time I saw him was in The White Olive Tree trailer, and I couldn't believe he was the same actor. His look and whole demeanor were completely different, and I thought he was someone else entirely. Looking back, it's a shame I didn't watch it at that time.
What finally pulled me in, though, was Fated Hearts. I stumbled upon a TikTok clip of his forest scene with Li Qin, and my curiosity took over. 😅 I’m so glad I gave it a shot. Since then, I’ve binged his entire filmography, from Handsome Siblings to his newest drama, and it’s been such an incredible ride.
This is why Fated Hearts holds a truly special place in my heart. My Chen Zheyuan journey started here, and while supporting an actor always has its highs and lows, he makes it all endlessly worth it. I am forever grateful this drama introduced me to him! 😊
Exactly this. I really hope the MDL team listens to this feedback, it would be a major upgrade for the platform. It makes no sense that people can just go around spamming 1-star ratings on ALL the episodes of a drama even when it hasn't even finished airing yet. I doubt these people have even watched a single episode. 🤦♀️
What is even wrong in this drama? People really rank mediocre dramas with 10+ ratings but they hate these kinda…
It seems like people who aren't even watching the show are review-bombing every episode (even the ones that haven't aired yet) while actual viewers only rate what’s already out. Some people seriously need to get a life. It’s such a shame because this unfair rating might discourage potential viewers from giving a deserving drama a chance.

I hope he keeps picking interesting characters in the future. He has this amazing ability to completely lose himself in a role, to the point where it feels like a different person every time. Our boy is a total chameleon!!!

I recall reading here that he only gets about 25%–30% of the screen time, which already feels ridiculously short for a main lead. If the production crew cuts even more, then sadly, I really don't know what's left to look forward to for our Ying Gua. 😭😭💔💔

Considering the notorious politics of the C-entertainment industry, a stolen brand deal is hardly unexpected. The last rumor I heard when C announced their new Brand Ambassador in March was that Zheyuan would be collaborating again with Loewe. Though clearly, that never came to fruition.
Honestly, I was expecting a different actor to land this brand ambassadorship since he’d been wearing YSL to several events recently. I was so ready to be disappointed again, but then Zheyuan dropped the announcement this week! 🥹
If my memory serves me right, their only visible collaboration before this was Paris Fashion Week back in June (unless I missed something). That said, I did notice him wearing YSL for Vogue China’s Forces of Fashion and Weibo Night, so perhaps those were early hints after all. 🤔

I get where you're coming from, but comparing them directly isn't really fair. They’re under completely different agencies with vastly different resources, connections, and behind-the-scenes support. Plus, those other actors have had a steady stream of dramas coming out recently, whereas his last one aired almost a year ago.
Regarding the brands you brought up:
Master Kong: When a brand already has WYB as a GBA, they don't really need anyone else to drive sales coz his reach in China and internationally is already huge.
iQiyi: That title didn't actually offer him much value. iQiyi barely promoted his dramas when he held the GBA title, so losing it doesn't change anything. 😅
Piaget: The only endorsement I’m genuinely sad didn't get renewed.
I completely share the frustration over how poorly his agency handles him. His resources fall way short of his actual popularity, especially overseas. But getting named YSL’s China Brand Ambassador is huge for YSL China is notoriously selective with their reps. Let's focus on appreciating this win for now. 😉
