I think it sounds interesting, but I don't really like the deal with Onew and Ji Yeon.
To me, it seems like she doesn't love him and leaves him, which makes him heart broken and leads to bad choices. That part I'm fine with. It's the whole "she comes back and realizes what she's done and he changes for her" thing.
To me, it seems like if he's forgiving her and then getting back together with her, he would get hurt again. I don't know how to really explain it, but it seems like it'll make him blind with love, and end up in a hurtful relationship. I would much rather have him end up with someone else, or realize he doesn't need her and just own being single. I don't know if it makes any sense.
I'm not hating on your idea, I think it's a great idea, I just wanted to give you my thoughts on it. Even if it became a drama with the Onew/Ji Yeon as you imagined it, I would totally watch it.
