I liked that we got to see more of Nam Ja Yeon and Bok Gyu Hyun. I'm so curious to see how they end up falling in love considering she clearly has feeling for Yeo Ha Jun that stem from their high school days. I also wonder what BGH hate commented for NJY to react the way she did and press charges!
I am also more convinced than ever before that Kim Ji Uk, might be the illegitimate son of BGH's dad (since we know he committed adultery 😬). Who was that dude in the car? Is he going undercover in the company again? But this time as an employee?
OMG the scene in the hotel where KJU asks SHY why she doesn't close her eyes??? 🤭EEEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEEEHEHEHEHEHEHE! Seriously, we need more characters like SHY, her brazenness is 😩🤌 , the way she just dgaf about how she interacts with others or overthinks too much. I think I'm just too used to watching FLs that second guess themselves, feel too much embarrassment and react to MLs like they're Gods come to earth. I never thought I would love a noona romance this much.
Can't wait for next week to see how KJU and SHY adapt to their new situation as coworkers! And what will happen with NJY and BGH??? I wanna know!
It seems like not just HY couldn’t recognize JU from childhood, but also her two sisters too. They only know…
You make a lot of good points, I totally forgot about the SHY’s foster sisters potentially not recognizing him too!
As for what he’s working on, I also keep thinking he could be secretly rich 🤔 hmm lots to think on. (I can’t remember, but is the company that he essentially went undercover as an interviewee, the same one that belongs to the chaebol family? And that SHY works at?)
Oooh, or what if he’s some how related to the chaebol family that runs the company that SHY works at?
Could KJU be an illegitimate son? 🧐 We already know that the dad in the chaebol family cheated on his wife at some point bc she makes snide remarks at him all the time and then there’s that rule about “no unmarried” women working closely with her son. (She also hints at the infidelity when talking about why she loves SHY’s lil sis’s online story - she said something about how she likes it bc the MMC in the story only has eyes for the FMC)
Could KJU be the mistresses’ son? And the mistress is now in Canada, wanting him to come and live with her?
lol this might just be a rabbit hole 🕳️ but I find the chaebol family kinda random bc there doesn’t seem to be any close connection to SHY only that she works for their company and the eventual love-line with SHY’s lil sis.
Side note: How did SHY’s mom recognize KJU? I wonder if he is one of her previous foster children? (If this is the case, are we gonna get another yearning, down bad in love loser MMC? 😍 my fav type atp) But if so, why doesn’t SHY recognize him??
I’m soooo curious about KJU’s past. Is the person he told to stop contacting him an ex? perhaps a stalker? a parent even? (That scene lowkey reminded me of the obsessed girl in the c-drama ‘Hidden Love’ who wouldn’t leave the MMC alone bc of past stuff with his/her dad 🤔)
Also what did KJU mean in ep. 1, when he told those job applicants he was working on something they could “never imagine” (he said something like this I forgot the exact phrasing tho)
I love how absolutely chaotic Son Hae Yeong is 😂, she’s so shameless but confident which makes her antics funny to watch. When she brought up the “baby” lmaooooo I died
WHAT in tarnation is going on with this show??? The first two episodes were soooo good, they had me convinced this drama was going to be the second coming of “Be Melodramatic.” It had the wit, dry humor, role reversals, and great acting. It was so promising. Like, they really got me with the little brother warning her off instead of an angry potential mother-in-law 😔🤌
BUT 😫 as the drama progresses the less and less I am enjoying myself. Episodes 7 and 8 have me completely confused. What happened to the comedy aspect? And the originality? Everything all of a sudden turned so serious. Nothing of note really happened in episode 7 besides the “epilogue.” It felt like filler. Episode 8, delivered half baked drama and had scenes that made me feel like a gd genie 🧞♂️ because I could tell what was going to happen every next moment . I literally counted the seconds before Ah Jung ran back to Ji Han after his confession. That entire set of scenes from the confession to the end credits, was painfully predictable!!!
GAH!!! 😖 And the acting? When Ah Jung was beating him in anger bc of his confession, I wanted to crawl into a hole 🕳️ and die. It was fist clenchingly cringey and not well done, which is a shame bc Ik my girl Jeon Jong Seo can act 🤨 whoever 🫵 “ok”-ed that scene needs a swift kick 🦶🏼in the shin bc it was a disservice to both actors’ acting ability 😭
But moving on 🙄.
I’m starting to feel kind of bamboozled by this drama. I thought Ah Jung was going to be outspoken, hilarious and direct. Instead these last couple episodes all her character has done is mope around. Her dialogue has also been reduced to evasive conversation or simple “em” “yeah” “ok” responses. Where is the vibrancy her character used to have? Wasn’t the whole charade supposed to be fun before it got serious? 🧐
Next point ☝️
DON’T even get me started on the romance aspect 😤. Ji Han and Ah Jung went from funny interactions, flirty/humorous banter, and low key being enemies to now “painfully” in love⁉️ Girl What??? I love both actors & their characters, but their relationship feels hard to believe now.
The ONLY redeeming factors in all of this are:
1. Ji Han saying “just trust and follow me” to Ah Jung in next weeks’ episode preview. For some reason that was unbelievably H🥵T to me 🫣. Don’t ask 🛑 ✋ it just was. Trust me on this.
2. I’m curious how they’re going to navigate their now “forbidden” romance + the fact that Ah Jung knows Do Han is gay and willingly agreed to marry him. I hope Ji Han doesn’t feel betrayed in some way 😢
PS: I loved the FL's action scenes on the train + fight on the set where she is an extra - so beautifully done!…
I hate to admit that I feel the same way. It felt like it went from playful banter and funny interactions to somehow they’re now painfully in love. It became sooo melodramatic. Don’t get me wrong I like them both, but I was like: when did you guys graduate from like to LOVE ❓🤨
As for Ms.Yoon, I feel like she needs to read the room better. It’s so obvious Ji Han doesn’t like her, and it’s sad that they’re going to make her character go the obvious “jealous other women” route. Normally I eat that up, but here it feels pointless. 🙃
Idc I’m taking Hae-In’s side. She seems like she struggles to express herself well bc everyone just assumes she’s an ice queen. It’s clear she has affection for Hyun Woo, but she isn’t outwardly displaying it. Of course I get that Hyun Woo feels stuck in a loveless marriage, but in these two episodes all I’ve seen is him pitying himself. I think BOTH are at fault for their failing marriage, but I’m less inclined to blame Hae-In bc she seems to be the one under pressure from her family, in work, and is even sick now. I think there’s more to her than what we’ve seen which is why I feel extremely more sympathetic for her than Hyun Woo. Even her own mom doesn’t care what might be going on with her. Team Hae-In 🫶😭 She really has no one on her side.
The main leads looks like Sehun from EXO. He’s cute but he needs to learn to stop being such a stick in the mud. I love Ah Jung tho! Her humor and personality are sooo good! I feel like we don’t get a lot FLs in dramas that are this calm, witty, capable, and outspoken. 🫶
I’m only on episode 10 and this has got to be the sweetest C-drama I have ever watched 😭😭😭😭 It’s so beautiful, the relationship is so tender and the slow burning is sloooowwww burning 🔥 🔥 in the best way.
I’m on ep.5 and the FL is still so gd annoying. I thought she was getting better, but then she proved me wrong. I just watched the part where she scolds him for the painter murderer getting accidentally stabbed. Honestly I didn’t think Yi Soo deserved to be scolded like that. Also just a WILD thought, maybe he wouldn’t take it upon himself to work individually if she and her team included him like they’re supposed to???? That’s just my crazy guess tho 🙄😪 I just HATE how up on her high horse the FL is, she acts like she’s been unfairly handed this huge burden, but she’s the one who unjustly arrested Yi Soo, and lost out on “her” murder suspect. He’s also not a jerk or a bad person, which makes how she treats him even less deserving. It’s not like he asked to be made a cop, or to catch a serial killer; these things just happened to him and she behaves like he’s targeting her. I’m literally only watching this for Yi Soo bc he’s funny and a cutie. I hope there is NO romance between him and the FL, bc she’s the worst. No hate toward the actress tho, I just really dislike how her character was written.
I’m on the first two episodes and the FL is soooo annoying. She talks all about responsibility but she actively refuses to make up for HER mistake. She’s so prejudice against him, for no reason. Like OK he’s rich and lives life however he wants, that’s not a crime. Also he seems like a good egg not at all an asshole, comparatively she’s the one being a huge d*ck. What else I don’t get, is how the FL is so caught up on the fact that he “stole” their suspect; HE DIDN’T tho???? He was literally defending his friend and then defended himself when the suspect started trying to stab him. I’m sorry but I really can’t stand the FL and her “woe is me” persona, like please get your head out of your ass and act like a decent human being. I get that the whole (nepotism) parachute 🪂 employee thing is annoying, but she’s refusing to cooperate even when they keep telling her it’s him being a cop or her losing her job ; and she still acts like the whole world has wronged her. 🙄
It was too cartoonish. From plot to acting to styling. I suffered through it for Lee Joon Hyuk's five minutes…
A lot of people are saying this, I just started watching this, and I feel like it’s following the Marvel-esque or just American super hero style of shows I’ve seen. It’s definitely an interesting take for a kdrama.
I’ve only watched the first episode, but this feels very Americanized in some ways. So much so, that I started to wonder if this was even shot in South Korea (it probably was considering the green public bus at the start of ep.1 tho) Am I the only that feels this way? Of course there are indisputable Korean elements in this Korean drama, but I’m specifically referring to the editing, scene direction, script, and overall cinematography. This feels closer to Marvel movies/shows that I’ve watched rather than any kdrama I’ve ever seen. Also, I’m not saying this is necessarily a bad thing, it’s just something I noticed.
