Both have a really slow, comforting and warm vibe. Both are kinda telling you "I know life sucks, but it's okay, I'll be with you, and we can be sad together." They also have relationships that are more about love than labels. The relationships exist because it makes sense to them and because they give them something they can't get otherwise, not because they are in love, if that makes sense?
Both have changes of perspective (tho Monster way more dramatically so) that divide the movie into parts. They have a similar vibe, only Monster feels more desperate. There are more things, but mentioning them would spoil the movies.
If you thought the description of Mad Dog was really interesting, but you didn’t really think it delivered, then you should watch Reborn Rich. They have a lot of the same elements, but Reborn Rich deals with them better (imo).
They’re both political, two different parties trying to win and trick each other, family and friend centered, a smaller but really good romance, and good performances.
