regarding the romance part in this. I don't see their relationship as purely mentor-mentee one. even just in ep.…
She already have fallen for him in the end of ep 4.

Welcome to what we call Slow Burn romance my friend

Liked the fanservice between the main leads at this end. Family vibe was on point.

Ah slow burn romance, I love you but I hate you in the same time ;)

Started Beyond the bar today, and after 2 episodes I'm liking how the show is unfolding.👍💯So how's it going?…
Great show ngl. Now I wait the end. Very subjective but my top 3- top 5 all time

I agree with you, too bad the case was a little bit rushed. They wanted to focus on the euthanasia case. But I do think if the defendant confessed it was him, maybe that would have trigger something to the ML that could have been interesting.

He definitely was harsh but he is just the cold lawyer who not try to show mercy. I mean it is clearly abuse but they are lawyers like that and I appreciate the fact that he is not a white Knight

Nobody said he is a saint. He just did his job lmao. The ML has his weaknesses and he is far from being perfect. But Not everything is black and white.

As for the licence plate, it might be a lucky guess, a number she remembered in her past or maybe she were wrong on just a number/letter.

It's showing you the reality. The guy could have been the murderer of the hit & run case but you need definite proofs and an Alzheimer's person testimony cannot be taken seriously. The ML did only his job defending his client and for the sake of benefits of the doubt. He might be indeed innocent.

If there is no romance, it will be in season 2. And If I'm not mistaken the drama is quite sucessful in Korea…
Quite frankly it is a risk but it is kinda rare to switch actresses/actors like that. In Flex X Cop it will be a totally new FL but in a potential Esquire S2, it would be quite nonsensical to bring a new trainee and replacing her with a new face for the same role will be disturbing. And I highly doubt she will refuse a S2 as the show is quite popular and a good promo for her.

This show is very interesting because it has the potential to finish with a romance in S1 or an open ending. Or maybe they will be a romance and a S2, who knows haha ?

We will have to wait the final episode but for me it will be an open ending with strong romantic feelings implied by both parties. Like that it will lead the way for a possible S2 without ruining the slow burn. Or like I said earlier, It can be interesting to have a romance in S1 and how they live their romance in S2 but I prefer the slow burn option.

If there is no romance, it will be in season 2. And If I'm not mistaken the drama is quite sucessful in Korea so we might go this way. If there is no S2 and no romance, yes, it would be a huge waste even if the drama is good on itself

NGL, I'm laughing so hard each time when I see "only 4 episodes left, how they will wrap up the romance ?" while since ep.1 you have each episode a scene that strengthen the bond of the main leads.

does this have romance between the main leads?
It is strongly hinted toward that direction. But who knows. Maybe its a bait, an open ending or it will have a S2. We have to finish the show to be fixed.

OK, so I know people are saying that the ex-wife is bad but since my perception of the male lead completely changed…
You know in five episodes all can happen. Btw it can have a season 2 and the the FL is already "on the move". ML just start to face forward.

For the "second couple is more enjoyable" that's just subjective asf and I completely disagree. Sure they are cute but the meaning of slow burn apply for the main couple here so if they end up together it will be toward the end.

FL disapeared the whole episode for the purpose of the scenario focusing on the ML forgetting his ex and the side couple (his friends & collegues). Yes, it can be frustrating but she is just a trainee and it would be a problem if that pattern continue but it will not.

As for the trials, they are still interesting imo but to say they became "nonsensical" is kind of going a little too far ?

Not everything is perfect for sure but it is not that confusing or messy like you portray it.

I came into this show not expecting romance since it wasn't even a subtag, let alone an actual genre of the show.…
Apparently the screenwriter is known for slow burn romance (Flex X Cop). Maybe they will have no romance at the end like you said or maybe S2 is in production and romance will sailing there. Or we will have kinda of an open ending.

Yes but like the antagonist said it was an internal policy made by the ML. And there are no consequences at all.…
I do agree with you tho that it will have some consequences and will probably serve as an obstruction of their romance. And How they will overcome that & so on 🫡

*DISCLAIMER* I truthfully don't care if they get together in the show. I actually think the leads look cute together…
Yes but like the antagonist said it was an internal policy made by the ML. And there are no consequences at all. The only pbm is the extraction of information that can lead to misconduct. Probably the ML put in place that system to make people focus on their job

Is there really romance between the two main leads? He actually feels more like her father, and I never thought…
Fgs she hit her thirties and u feel more like it's her father ? Like 10 years old age gap for you it's like father daughter relationship?

You could have use other excuses like mentee/trainee but no, the age gap is what's bugging you.

Wake up, you and your kind need mental help at this point.

You miss emotional cases but go drop this drama if you are that mentally weak of a person. Actually their potential romance is cherry on the cake here as they actually healing each other and I hope they will finish as a couple just for you all to get mad.

i was enjoying ep 1 and 2, but i think is going to be a romance, and i dont like that, he looks so much older…
You are pretty wrong. Even if they end up in a romantic way that do not waste the interesting cases and plot as they are kind of healing each other. And irl when they are both consenting adult, 10 yr age gap or 15 yr what's the matter ? Be it an older woman or older guy ? The only problem you can find that can be valid is either the older person has a position of control like being a professor or something alike but come on, when you hit thirties, don't tell me you are still a child.
On Beyond the Bar Aug 4, 2025
Very emotional 2nd episode to say the least. Cannot wait to see other cases and of course how the relationship mentor/mentee will grow.
