After all, Manee developped a lot towards the end and I am glad to have watched this series. Even though it is fantasy, the Thai culture is presented very well .
I am just at episode 9 but I agree with the review of #RPS that tha character of Manee is way too dumb and childish. As a well educated lady of today her behaviour is far from what you can expect. The story is interesting (I love this time travel stories) butManee realy gets on my nerves. However, it is easy to watch so I go on. May be some time I find the original version of 1994 subbed in english as this is said to be realy good.
I was interested in the story and got what I expected. Nice cast with a good balance of good and bad characters unlike many other lakorns. Theepob is a bit stiff but the chemistry between the couples was quite ok. Only the time frame of ten years regarding the cause of Risas vengeance is strange. From beinbg a kid like she was to the crown princess she played there must be at least 15 years. However, a nice lakorn to watch when you look for some entertainment.
So I mostly agree with your review I do not think that the ending was much different from the rest of the series. Loopholes everywere but no to the point that the story was lacking consistency. Only one thing I have to critisize is that the story starts at the end of WW I and the technology used in the present i.e. the mobile phones are from 2017. Said that the final meeting with the owner from London would hardly be possible. To make it fit the story should have played either in the 1980s or the person holding the meeting with Khed should have been a descendant of the one portraied in the series final because otherwise this must be another misterious time travel.
This was a most heartwarming drama. A fairy tale on historic background. So well played. I will leave it with that. Surely watch it again some time as there was realy nothing missing. Good story, good acting, great cast. Beatiful set and music. Well well done !
The more I watch the less I like. Another lakorn where women are stupid, stubborn and reckless and only sexualy driven. Inteligence is non existent. You could go on with so many things that are not making sense at all and I doubt thtat it will get any better from ep 7 onwards. By the way, the male charecters are not much more intelligent either. And since it starts to be an archeological excursion, the students don't seem to be much interested or even knowlegable. Especialy the female students obviously do not take part in the studying at all. So disappointing.
So finaly I reached the end. Even though the story lacked a bit of common sense, it ended kind of the way which could have been expected. After all it was worth watching.
Oh wow, things are developing. Ever since episode 4 it was clear there is imminent danger. It still takes Thien another 5 episodes to decide to take action (what he could have done long ago) and the reason is not the danger itself or even the troubled death of his father but Singhanakarad trying to steal his woman. It is so lakorn but even if it is a fantasy there should be at least a reasonable amount of common sense. Well, I want to see the end anyway so I keep going but storywise it is very annoying. Especially Roi who obviously has the mind of a 4 year old girl. So much stupidity is just hard to take. Ah and ryu, being saved from death andtaught who he is and how to use his power - why is he still the innocent and dumb boy ? All development to the good hascrashed after his return. If they ever find a way to cucced, it is not of cleverness but stupid coincidences which lead to the expectable end. The only highlight from beginning to now is Pundriel. Her Character is the most stable apart from Singkanakarat.
Even at episode 8 Roi has still not come to the insight that Jinjanee is playing a dirty game. Roi was in her childhood very often in the Wat (Temple) and even in episode 1 she got a lesson from the monk. Up to this episodeall she does is just stupid girlish with no sense. However, this must be part of the plot because otherwise we would not see enough episodes. In the end, everything will be ok as always.
So there are only a few comments on this series and none realy is related to the plot. Shame. It is fantasy but nicely put together. Good production and visual effects, good actors as well. However, I don't get it why in almost every thay lakorn thai people even well educated are portraied to be overly conceptual. Like Thien who has asked so many times why he can not manage the company and even after getting introduced to family history and his father stressing that there is nothing more important than solving this family matter right now, he still behaves like a 5 year old. To difficult, cannot do, not interested. And again asking to manage the company who will anyway not be there anymore if he looses. I mean the plot is ok but the behaviour of the people is in parts simply stupid, even for a thai lakorn. - By the way, Roi is not much better. Showstar of third dimension show but not at all sceptical in real life. Just believes what she wants to believe even though in many scenes there was enough proof to easily win a murder trial.
Just finished all 40 episodes within 4 days. Could not stop watching. Don't want to make much words about it - just marveoulous. I liked every single episode very much. Was very happy because I am a fan of Thai history in special Ayuttaya and this was just great. Worth every minute !
This series wasn't as bad as everyone is making it out to be. I can agree that towards the end it got cliche and…
I agree with you. The series was quite nice but lost its sparkle at least around Ep7. There are many comments good or bad which may be ok as everyone has different expectations. In the end only having a cast of good looking actors is not enough to make it to the top. However it was worth watching.
You expressed it just the way I experienced it. However, it was still kind of interesting story - and if you like to watch Dr. Men and New together there is Hua Jai Sila (2019) which I liked very much.
This is a very well paced series and I enjoyed every single episode so far. Very entertaining. A little sadness here ant there but quite a few scenes make me laugh again and again. At this point my favorite series running.
You did a great review which I agree to almost everything. However, the good part as you say - the strong message - I do not realy see it. Why - because anyone homophobic or not a fan of this type of series would ever watch it. The frame of the story is mainly BL/Gay and the message developed only in the last three episodes. So, yes there was a strong message in the end as it lead to a happy ending but honestly I don't think this would be delivered to general public. Thus it is a reminder to keep fighting for a world of more understanding that love is not a question of gender.
to easily win a murder trial.
