I realy do not know why good series get bad ratings and this series gets praised so much. To me (after episode 6) this is a realy awkward series with low acting qualities and a middleclass production. Not realy bad but not good either. This world is just strange - LOL
On Candle in the Sun Apr 20, 2021
Well, it was not too bad but not the best either. Many stupid mistakes in production such as the scenery of Paris or the old Missionary who looked like a boy dressed for halloween. A story which was founded on hatred and where the past and the present did match quite well apart from the end. Together with the final appearance of Sing the ending seemed rushed and not balanced. It just did not fit that well. Unfinished business in the past and unexpected stuff in the present scratched the otherwise quite decent show. It is worth a solid 7,5 from me.

Well, I have seen better series than this one. Muat Lit who is the bad guy keeps yelling the same again and again (Mostly ...or you/he/she... die). He himself is like Achilles from the ancient stories and can not be harmed, whatever happens to him. Many things are not logic or simply unexplicable. Many hard cuts as the story moves on. I am not going to deep into the story which could have been better if the production would have been decent. This the production was disapppointing and with that the acting suffered as well. Mostly ok but sometimes just horrible. The violence was little compared to how much mashinegun shootings happened and how few people got hit by the bullets (which by the way could not harm any jeeps, windscreens or other glass items). Many branches of trees were hit badly in every shooting instead. The ending after all was just like #Hime wrote: as if it did not belong there. It was there all of a sudden after another major cut. A good story which suffers from the disappointing production.

Almost finished with episode 2 and it is going slow. Typical thai series but so far it seems that there is very much time killing scenes and of course things which make no sense. Villagers are already in the camp but Koytee who has passed them long ago is still in the woods. For someone quite inteligent this is obscure. Angkor, a bold woman to begin with changes to a chicken running away from everything and being afraid of everything. And another typical part is assuming things without knowing or questioning. Seems to be hard to watch especially since it is 1 hour 50 minutes to every episode which is way to long. In addition a guy (Mek) who in his character is so much out of place. I have no words to describe. Unlike other lenthwise similar series this one might realy go on my nerves but I will keep going for the story has potential.

Thinking of what I should comment I think you said most of what I feel. Production and acting were not to the point but I think the rules an regulations during the Corona-Pandemic may be partialy a reason to that. I may even consider looking for the novel as the story is interesting. Thanks for the hint to that.

Very nice. Agree with the 3 timelines and the reviews about them. The second timeline could have been shortened and the third extended. That is also my opinion. After almost every single part has been explained, there was never a word of how and when the Princess' brother has deceased. Even though he was so important to her, there is nothing to be found about him apart from the initial timeline and the happenings with the original characters of the love- or not love - story. The end was a bit over the top but well, in general we can be happy with the ending even though it was quite rushed compared to the rest of the story. So, not everything was perfect but to me a solid 8,5 is well deserved.
Just wanted to watch as this seemed interesting but had to drop after a few minutes. Seems like a bad backyard prodoction from some 20 years ago but definitely not like a decent studio production from 2019. Just watch the attack on the Princess residence - even a first year school theater could do this better. OMG how could something like this even go on air.

My advice - if you wanted to watch this then give it a try, don't listen to the people here lol... The directing…
In general I agree. I like your intro sentence LOL. The acting could be better at times but the whole production was awkward anyway, so never mind that. After reading so many negative comments I gave it a try whilst being careful with expectations. My statement: The idea behind the making of the show was ok just the actual making of could have been better.

Ummm.... I am actually one of those "critiques" and you are correct you wont find most of the things wrong now…
Actually I have watched all episodes and even wrote a review about this series - my first one ever - but still to the end to me it was well likeable. However, I do accept that there are different views of different people and therefore different opinions. So let's put it that way - I feel a little sorry that there are so many negative comments, that's all. But yes, Neo as I well remember, he was a great part of the show and I liked his character very much.

It realy is another typical Thai BL show. Not to bad and not to good. Some good characters like Mark, Kit, Wayu, Phai and Thanu and all of them fragil like a raw chicken egg. I mean getting piched by a needle in the finger - being Thai you need to see a doctor. Having a Theater Spotlight falling down causes the world to break apart. There is more but hey, that is not the real thing but always part of BL Shows and others as well. Frustrating so. However, apart from that I like the show even though you know that you will have to watch season 2 for things to get untwisted and revealed. Mainly Mark is a character who makes the whole thing worthwile to watch.

Well, I have only finished episode 4 but I still can not understand why there are so many dreadful critics about this series. It is very loveable and got loads of humor. If you have ever seen the American movie "Meet the Parents" wirh Ben Stiller and Robert deNiro, you might agree that there are many similarities. Whatever it is that makes people think so badly about this series, I DO NOT UNDERSTAND ! Have not loughed so much for quite some time and apart from being in lockdown mode, I have to cope with the health of my boyfriend and lifepartner who just got a severe surgery a few weeks ago. So there is plenty of time to sit and watch TV or Series of any kind. This truely is Romantic Comedy.

Well made series with some really good and realistic mature/adult relationships stories. Acting was on the whole…
Just about what I was thinking about this second part of the series. You expressed it very well. Just like to add that I liked the development of Stud. Finaly becoming serious in his love and Earth becoming a psycho. Who would have expected that.

Despite all those negative comments I started watching this series. Well, it is not as bad as I thought it would be. There are some aspects I have detected in other Thay Lakhons as well so why should this series be different. It is kind of entertaining. However, the wig Kittipong (Kosakin) is wearing in his ancient appearance is ridiculous. So far this is the most disturbing thing for me. I remember Kittipong from Hua Jai Sila were I liked him very much. A petty that this wig can*t be removed. 55555

Beautiful lakhon with all you can expect from a thai drama . I like those time traveling dramas very much but this is personal and may not reflect a general view. The past time was portraied very well and while in other dramas the servants mostly take a side role, here they were right the center of the story which in fact was quite cruel. However, having a good start for the present time, this topic got off its way in the last few episodes. For the past being so tough and cruel I count this as the reason why I could not watch it in one go as other dramas because I needed a break. Said this, it is not because it was bad but because the past was realy believable and sad. Therefore I rather watch dramas like Buang Banjathorn. However, it is a great drama with great acting, and nice OST. The Production was very good with a lack to the story in the present time. Therefore 9/10 - well done.

A good story which was quite tough to watch. I did not like the way grandma was interpreted and I did not like the hairstyle of grandma , Prae Kao being "old" or Chompoo as a grown up lady. Also Korn was overly foolish since you would not expect brother and sister to be so different. One well educated and working and the other just dumb. So the story of Korn is rather awkward but it is anyway more about Prae Kao and Raiwin. However, it was worth to watch.

As mentioned previously - there are many people who liked this series and some who don't. So be it. To me it was one of the nicest series this year. Pai as the loveable son of parents who want his best but don't realize how pressing this is. The son, obedient and never questioning his parents. I do not know if this kind of family exists but it was well played and I did believe every minute. Also the characters of Pure, Folk and Waan added up to the story and the acting of all actors was quite natural. It was nice to watch how as time goes by, the characters developed. Let's just say it was a peacefull and charming Thai series which I certainly will rewatch in the future.
There are folks who love this series and others who don't. Be it as it may. I liked it (even though there is another episode to come) because I liked the story of Tin and Can in LBC already. There is only one thing which confuses me and that is while the story of everybody in LBC is continuing, the story of Tin and Can starts anew as if it never happened in LBC. Apart from this, well done for me. About Plan (Can) yes I think he is hillarious. :-) . I already stated that this is my personal opinion and much positive and negative has been said already. In fact there is no wrong or right. Like it or not - it is up to everyone him-/herself.

Really disappointed, doesn't make any sense, weird, bad acting and that's not in my opinion a sequel
I do agree in full. This is just awfull.

Well, as some viewers stated, the parential part has disappeared, that is true. On the other side, I think it is quite interesting how, let*s say the search for love is happening. I do not think anyone is realy harassed or attacked. Most of what is happening is very subtle and some random statements lead to some misunderstandings. After episode 10, when everybody seems to be most appart from each other, it is probably the time when bits and pieces will fall into places and the puzzle will eventually reveal its final beauty. I like this series because I think it is different to most others but I am aware that this might not reflect other opinions as I go through the comments. However, it is quite interesting to read again and again how different people have a different point of view for this or any other series they watch.

Right now finished Ep4 of this drama and despite all the bad things happening, I can not sympasize with anyone. That makes it quite easy to watch without being burdened with anxiety of what will happen next. The drama is full of lies, hatred, jealousy, dumbness and cruelness. A bit of everything right from the start. So watching this makes me just want to know the outcome of each characters actions rather than fearing what is happening to any person in special. So I think that makes it quite easy to watch. Only thing most annoying is the weak character of Mitra who is permanently crying thus stil stressing how strong she has got. By the way, it is so Thai Lakhon that supposedly well educated and matured people are judging without listening or questioning the matter. Sometimes it is just too much and I have to interrupt watching. Don't realy know why these two elements - judging without knowing and not listening - are key elements in almost every Thai Lakhon.
