This is quite good, the OST is great, the cinematography and direction is beautiful, the leads chemistry is ..…
I would say it started out boring and shallow? and then it kinda grows on you, the fl is such a cutie and charming person that she brough life to her character, and their relationship was nice and all but then everything went downhill when they made the FL a selfish character, wish they wrote this part in a more mature way, it was sad seeing them drift away and hurting each other, and then they rushed it all with no true communication between the leads (even the part where he speaks about his ex who died in an accident were never shown just showed that he told her, wish they actually showed it as it would make their relationship more intimate and real rather than all the kissing scenes), dialogues between them lacked even though their emotions were beautifully portrayed.
even Yuan Qi, they never showed him knowing that He Ran is her daughter it would have been nice to see ( their story was quite good, but it should have started earlier rather than midway through, i think they just wanted to make the mother's character unlikable for her daughter's story sake )
nevertheless it was a good and different watch from usual Chinese dramas, its more similar to their movies I would say
This is quite good, the OST is great, the cinematography and direction is beautiful, the leads chemistry is .. intense? and the FL is on point, she is a promising actress and nailed this role honestly!
I would say the editing/ direction was off sometimes (maybe thats the writing even), Im not talking about the cut scenes, but the transition and timings were off that I never knew when everything happened and the time difference? it was annoying
I love that by now he is kind of a grey character? like we dont know if he is good or bad, he seems to have crossed alot of lines for him to get his revenge ( I wonder if he met someone from that old village and told him about his father?!) its sad seeing that he even left the person he loves behind to go on his revenge plan
Thank you for this (very well written) article, I think I have seen 3 movies out of this list! Im still waiting for the book 1Q84 to be adapted into a movie even though it might be a bit difficult to do (as im not sure if they will be able to portray it)
that was sad honestly seeing his relationship with his mom, I hope all those get it bad towards the end since that accident is not an accident. Cant wait to see that redemption path
I prefer a protagonist who pretends to be a villain but is a good person to a naive protagonist with amnesia.
This might be the only case where I dont mind it, cause it will be about redemption and getting a second chance with his mother which they both deserve honestly
Him actually becoming a child is kind of redemption, he gets to enjoy what he missed as a child and his Mom gets…
excatly its going to be beautiful to see them do the things they both missed on since they deserve it!!
I hope they all go down towards the end when I think he will regain his memories and self cause that seemed to be his plan from the beginning and esp since that accident was planned =(
Loved it, I started this drama the day it ended because I read some people say that it reminded them of my mister ( which is my absolute favorite) it kind of has similar vibes , its been a while since I really enjoyed watching a kdrama that much! somethings were missing but the cinematography, acting and melancholic feelings were good!
if its something like the red sleeve or six flying dragons it would be great, but recently they are heading into romcom with a bit of mystery in a historical setting and thats not to my liking =/
hmm I just read that there is a lawsuit against this movie from the writer of the 2004 movie (if only) for it being an unofficial remake!! lets see how it goes =/

Finally found a good ongoing kdrama to see =D
