Yeah it's usually number 3.I didn't expect someone to say anything about it to be honest at this point. I kinda…
I'm thankful you brought it up! I have friends like that as well and it's difficult to see such an open dislike towards anything lgbt being displayed.
I'm fine with people solely liking bromance as I like both bromance and BL stories but some of the comments being made by non-BL fans are just too far. Anyway I usually keep to my BL community bubble but it's unfortunate to see that lgbt acceptance outside of the BL drama fandom still has a long way to go.
I wonder if all these people coming to the "bromance" cdrama pages, talking about the leads' beautiful friendship…
Yeah it's usually number 3. I didn't expect someone to say anything about it to be honest at this point. I kinda gave up on it and just solely discuss the drama with other BL fans. On any uncensored BL page some of the comments that have appeared here would have been criticised meanwhile here they seem to be accepted.
Both friendship and romance interpretations are fine but there's no reason to condemn lgbt (content). Bromance fans, I love bromance too but please mind the use of your words!
Just wanna introduce a website to you guys that Chinese fans use to upload their great edits!!!https://search.bilibili.com/all?keyword=%E5%B1%B1%E6%B2%B3%E4%BB%A4Tons…
I think this censorship of gay romance has actually worked in favour of BL adaptations in China. It allows established…
It did allow for them to finally fulfill the Chinese market demand for BL content in one way. Cause normally the Chinese fans would just check out Thai, Taiwanese or even Japanese BL (there's Korean BL too now but that stuff is fairly new). They will still continue to do that since those adaptations are actual BLs where characters will clearly state their love but this allows them to watch their own domestic productions too.
I don't think drama producers fear fans boycotting over BL content (although I do remember some fans threatened to boycot Untamed over a potential added straight romance). The biggest fear by far is not getting through the censors and being taken off the air by being reported. BL makes money and there are enough fans in China who specifically want to see BL.
just saw clip of simon's first BL drama on youtube not intestinally and I didn't feel comfortable at all ,, Simon…
Advanced Bravely is considered a bromance since it contains no kiss scenes or official declarations of relationships. It may have been originally a BL novel (just like Word of Honor) but its adaptation is censored.
There are no actual BL scenes in the show and I think videos about the show just give the illusion of this since one of the male characters shows his upper body a lot. They also just practice fighting a lot since one of them is a bodyguard.
I'm torn. BL Japan jes. Thanks to CM and after search I prefer JP BL over others it's seem a bit irony and joke…
Oh the important thing with this work is to not see the world of the characters as reality. Even the main character acknowledges his world is one of fiction. I think with Cherry Magic we can still see the world as being close to reality despite the supernatural elements but this BL is much more towards fiction.
Watching it basically will feel similar to reading a selfaware cheesy romance manga yeah. Its not for everyone but as someone who used to read shoujo manga I'm curious enough about it. Also I read the original manga and it has some genuinely funny moments (like the ghosts, not sure if they'll include it), its up to the drama not to mess it up.
This show will specifically focus on manga BL and not on giving commentary on live-action dramas. It's not meant to portray some deep reflection on the BL manga industry or anything like that though. Just the typical ''falling in love at first sight'' tropes or how characters seem to be unable to notice certain stuff (like whispered confessions) in mangas. The main character can sometimes act weird or rude since he is selfaware but in the end he is also supportive of the couples around him.
Good luck watching! There may be some stuff in the series I will dislike but I'm watching for the main couple (Yutaro and the classmate) ^^
Alright the Blu-Ray boxsets of Cherry Magic have started to arrive to their respective buyers. Here's an unboxing video in Chinese so you can kinda see the contents of the package: http://t.cn/A6tkGqO6
Just giving a final notice here before the show airs. For those interested in Japanese BL, soon a new Japanese BL will air which is more of a comedy than CM but still contains some romance. May be worth checking out as it has a lot of good actors in it. Yes Yutaro (Minato in CM) will be in this show as well and coupled with a new guy. Which is kinda the reason I posted here since it's a bit of a connection. It will air on WeTv.
The name is: Zettai BL ni Naru Sekai vs Zettai BL ni Naritakunai Otoko (2021) The trailer (unsubbed): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=990MQDaVCEM Explanation: Main character lives in a world that automatically creates situations similar to those in BLs mangas. So since the main character is straight he tries to avoid those situations by not standing out. In the process of doing that he ends up creating and seeing a lot of other couples around him.
