I think she has many insecurities about her physical appearance, especially now when she’s no longer young. This is a cruel industry for women though. Men who are around her age can just keep showing off their pecs and abs to remain relevant and desirable. It’s much tougher to be a top female actress.

I can’t seem to get through the first two episodes of her most recent dramas.

WHJ excels in dramas that are more action-packed AND has comedic elements in there, with other male leads.

It’s ok… the PMY fans are probably not too happy about the show’s ratings.

She still has legions of supporters despite her acting having always been quite mid. I guess they are aging as gracefully as she is apparently doing so, together with her. :)

When it’s mostly mainly the fans of the FL and ML gushing about the show, it’s probably quite mediocre. With the FL’s quite established insecurities about her physical appearance, it’s evident that her roles would mostly focus on… that. Pity that WHJ got relegated to this role as ML. Glad though, that many are able to point out how the show was carried by the second ML, despite its mediocrity.

Based on age and looks alone, Shou has always been the most likely to succeed more in the acting sphere, when compared to his WOLF(S) counterparts. Though he’s only getting meatier roles now, at least he’s actually getting acting gigs, compared to the most despo among them, Lai, who’s wanted so much to get into acting but sadly never got any credible chance. Lai and the rest are also in their mid or late 30s already, so it’s also tougher for them to be able to break into acting successfully. And now that Nine Chen has been embroiled in his scandal, that (arrogant) man’s future in the entertainment field is also bleak, and I’m assuming WOLF(S) will be disbanded inevitably too. Thus, it looks like SHOU will be the most successful among them, and he’s also a newly wed new daddy. What a man!

You can tell by people’s strong reactions to your post that the focus on romance isn’t something most viewers want in this show. Just have to accept it.
