After reading page after page of comments I get the feeling people were watching this drama for the sex scenes and the hope of some steamy scenes between the leads and their abysmal let down of that not happening! 🙄🙄 It seems the ACTUAL storyline was in about 10th place to what people thought they were going to watch. From comments on SYJ’s lack of “beauty” to JCW not being “romantic” in his sex scenes or encounters.
He is a PLAYER - since when is romance a part of their game plan?!? She is the older highly intelligent and educated women in an era when barely any women were educated in anything beyond wifely duties and proper pious behavior. They made a connection as children. He wasn’t attracted to as an “unforgettable beauty” but as a person he could connect with. She used her intellect and wiles to manipulate people to get what she wanted. She learned early to be a quiet and stoic person to keep her real personality hidden as it would have been unacceptable at that time. He desired her sexually but that wasn’t the only reason he held on to their relationship. He enjoyed the “games” and was willing to play them with her.
It was, by far the most nudity I have ever seen in a Kdrama or movie but I am limited to streaming sites and availability in the USA. It was tame compared to what can be seen in the US during prime time shows. I can’t say that I absolutely loved it but I would definitely give it a solid 8!

I think you missed the whole point of the story. It had NOTHING to do with her beauty!! It has to do with their emotional connection. She is a highly intelligent women in the time when women were only supposed to be capable of having little to no intellect or power. He is drawn to her as an equal. She uses that intellect to manipulate people into getting as much as she can in an era where women are meant to be seen and not heard. Even the scene of her and her father explain this the night of her betrothal acceptance. Not sure where you got the idea that this hinged on her “unfathomable and unforgettable” beauty.
He is not from the CIA - which is a USA govt entity. He works for the KCIA formerly known as the National Intelligence Service. Big difference. And he is using his connections in the KCIA to smuggle goods in hopes for enormous wealth. Sorry not seeing the “picture” of his shirt looking the Korean Peninsula at all. Is this the article writer’s opinion or a publicity “tidbit”?

How old are you talking about? I have watched 10-15 and NEVER seen anyone naked and actually portraying a sex scene…can you give me a title? I don’t think it is so much a “Netflix” thing as it is a “Western Society” thing. Trying to make it fit in with shows you would see in the USA…hopefully they don’t all start doing this. Next will come PC content and cramming social issues down your throat even when it has absolutely nothing to do with the story line and even messes it up. This was the whole reason I started watching KDramas to begin with. I don’t mind the nudity/sex scenes when they apply to the story as it seems to here. They are after all middle aged people with 2nd marriages so it’s not like we are looking at the virginal bride! 🤣🤣 They even did a great job of including the bi-sexual preference and the obvious “stigma” it still holds in many places. Thry made it a part of the story without going overboard and taking away from the main storyline and characters.
