Yucks! The sets are so fake. Huge empty hotel lobbies? Where are the guests? Empty streets when the characters are filming there? Where did everybody go? The dialogue is so insipidly awful – do people actually call one another my prince, my king, my queen outside of the most childish of fairytales ?! There are no redeeming qualities in this series.

Is "third country" an euphemism for the afterlife? It wasn't clear if Ah Ren died, although one could imply that he did. What about Qing Yu? A lot of BL movies from China and Taiwan appeared in the wake of Ang Lee's "Brokeback Mountain" which kind of opened the doors, or cleared the paths, for them. One of these Chinese BL movies even copied the music from BM! The BM motif is also seen in "Third Country" - expansive mountainous landscapes, a remote country, non-acceptance and a doomed love affair. I liked this movie despite some awkward moments.

Very enjoyable series, even if the episodes are very brief. Many of the comedic situations portrayed are those which any sexually active gay man will encounter. I also think that Jutapat Jarernsungnern is a hottie :p
