Every time I rewatch the series, I am pissed off at ShaoShangs's mother. I understand that she is a tough woman,…
does the mother ever get better? I'm on episode 10 and I hate her mother with a passion! Does it get better? Does she start treating her daughter better at some point?? Please give spoilers.
Yeah, thos confused me as well. The kid was definitely real, and his name and sister's name couldn't have been coincidence. But then you see all 6 of them together like a memory. So did Ning and Ruyi actually die? If not, how did they survive and go on to have kids? I don't like endings like this, that are unclear.
I'm so glad to see more people commenting, saying this is an awful, toxic drama! when I see people commenting about how much they love it and the ML/FL romance is so sweet, my brain just goes "Who hurt you??". this is an absolutely toxic and dreadful drama. I RARELY give low scores to dramas. like, if a drama is "meh", I'll still give it a 7. I have this a 1. That's how bad it is. why? well... to start with, the ML is beyond emotionless. I get that he might be on the spectrum and doesn't understand emotions and interpersonal relationships. But it's beyond that. He's just downright mean to the FL for no reason, from the get go. He shows ZERO interest in her. In fact, he shows more disdain than anything. That is until the FL finally decides to let go and move on. THEEEEN he suddenly shows a minute amount of interest, even kisses her. She gets hooked again, and he goes back to being totally uninterested and mean. As for the FL? Well, I don't even know why she liked him in the 1st place. But, she likes him in a very unhealthy way... almost obsessed. She tries to latch onto him like a lost puppy and just takes all of his abuse with a sad smile. Any small amount of interest he shows, she uses to convince herself that he really does love her. She has absolutely no self worth, sense of self preservation, or dignity. Every time she finally starts to act like a person instead of a doormat, and tries to get ahold of herself and move on from him, he kisses her or something and she's right back to how she was before. Then we have the parents... omfg... the parents! As a mom, I would NEVER allow my daughter to throw herself at someone who treats her like the s*hit he stepped in. You WILL treat her with respect, and kindness at a bare minimum. If she likes you and wants a relationship, you'll treat her like a goddess! If you don't, I'm going to talk some sense into her and make her see why you're no good for her. But this dad??? Nope. Sat there and watched his daughter getting treated like that and didn't do a damn thing. Never said anything to the boy or his parents. Mentioned to his daughter that this kid might not be so good for her, but dropped it when she was like "Daddy I love him!". And the ML's mom? Wanted a daughter sooooo much, she not only overlooked her son's toxic behavior, but push the 2 of them together over and over. Ugh. I just can't understand how anyone can watch this and think it's cute or romantic. I just want to hug those people and help them find a good therapist. (Coming from someone with an abusive background and has had lots of therapy).
Shows the reality of how evil the military and government is. Hyun soo didn't have much scenes but he's such a…
You're right, in that this season shows the reality of those in power and how heartless they actually are! Hyun Soo surrendered because for a couple reasons. 1. He's young and naive. He truly believed that the experiments were to find a cure and end the atrocious nightmare. 2. He already feels guilty for surviving when his family didn't and he also thinks it's his fault that they died. So he became suicidal. Then people started turning into monsters and people around him kept dying. Helping them became his reason to keep living. Saving people became not only his lifeline, but a way to assuge his guilt and repay his family by saving others... even at the cost of his own life, comfort, etc. 3rd. He honestly didn't think that the ones who could possibly save everyone, could be so inhumane and evil. As for the psycho doctor... he never wanted to find a cure. He hates humans. he hates BEING human. He was studying the monsters to figure out how to BECOME one. That's why he wants to find the girl. So she can turn him. And as far as why the girl turned on her mother... she's half human, but mostly monster. She's gone from infant to 14 year old in a year. She hasn't been exposed to human emotions (Yi Kyung was a pretty emotionless mother who didn't explain anything to her). So she doesn't understand the fear, sadness and pain that the humans are feeling. She only sees that her own mother is terrified of her and has thoughts about why she should have killed her at birth. For the girl, these thoughts are black and white. She doesn't understand the complexity of human thought and emotion and how you can have thoughts like that but not REALLY mean it. (She also doesn't understand love). Whereas the monsters are easy to understand and they make sense to her. So, she abandons her mom, who she thinks hates her, and she abandons Hyun Soo, who supports Yi Kyung. In the end, she "saves" her mom, because she really doesn't see what's so wrong with being a monster. I think she partly turned her into a monster because she took HS's words to heart and feels like she might regret it later. But more so, as a punishment to her mom for killing and hating monsters. Turned her into the thing she feared most. .... I think alllllll of this is leading up to what's gonna happen in S3, which in my theory is.... the humans will need to come to terms with the fact that most humans are evil creatures, and monsters aren't inherently bad. The humans will need to help heal the monsters that can be saved and help them control their monster side. Because only monsters are strong enough to fight other monsters. So monsters are actually the key to ending this hell. But to do that, the monsters need to embrace their human side and remember human emotions like love, empathy and hope. I think Yi Kyung's daughter will be the one who brings them all together, as she can see memories and control monsters. But, she'll probably make monsters and go against the humans before the finally learns and finally understands the humans. She might also end up being the one to bring down her own father, Ui Myeong! Oh.. and the missing brother? He was re-born at the very end of S2 from that egg. So he's a monster now. I have NO clue how that's gonna play out!
Ok, I absolutely LOVED season 2! I see a lot of people saying they didn't like it because it's all over the place. But, I think this is important for the story line. You have to remember the the show isn't about only 1 or 2 people. There's many prominent characters and story lines for each. Even season 1 jumped around, showing what the different characters were doing, thinking, feeling, experiencing, and even showing flashbacks of their lives. The difference between S1 and S2, is mainly that S1 took place in 1 building, where the characters mainly stayed together. S2 is taking place all over the city. Additionally, S2 is focusing more on the survivors and less on the monsters. Partly to show how humans are so very flawed. Partly to give realism of a monster apocalypse (during tge mainout break and the after effcts on the survivors and the world). Partly to show that it's not necessarily humans vs. monsters. There are good humans and bad humans. There are bad monsters and good monsters. S2 really showed this, which I THINK is going to be the key to ending this nightmare in S3. I think the humans, monsters that can resist completely turning, and going to have to work together, in order vanquish the evil monsters and heal the rest of the monsters. So, I for one, really enjoyed S2 and seeing the different views of humans and monsters.
is it really that bad? I like GongJun and ReBa a lot and it makes me sad that this doesn't sound promising based…
I actually did like it! The acting is good and the plot is pretty interesting. Both of the lead characters and supporting characters are intelligent and strong. that being said, I feel like it was drawn out a lot more than necessary. I took a break at episode 30, because it was just too much. I think it would have been better with 20-24 episodes. I ended up fast forwarding a good bit through the last 8 episodes. there are a few parts of the show that make you go "ummm... HOW??" I just had to chalk it up to C-drama logic. lol. But overall, it was a good show.
this show started out so well and had so much potential! unfortunately, the ending was a MAJOR let down. Actually, the last couple of episodes were a let down. I REALLY liked the ML. the FL, was... decent. I never did feel much chemistry between them though. But, I'm kind of glad about that. I think if there was more chemistry, the ending would have been even more disappointing. IDK. I just finished the last episode and I'm kinda mad right now. Why?? Just.... WHY?? Why couldn't the writers have been more creative and given us the ending we were all waiting for?!
Was it her imagination? Did he really die or did the vampire in him die? Think about it. The knife was specifically…
No, he's DEAD dead. that last minute where he was standing on the balcony, was her fond memory of him. like, his spirit is still with them because they will always remember and love him... the friends said goodbye and that they would wait for him to be reborn, even if they had to wait centuries. everyone said goodbye and let go, but he's still in their hearts.
I really liked the storyline and the actors! there were a few slow parts, especially during the flash back to their previous life. But overall, I liked the drama. what got me mad though, was the ending! omg! They took us through all that love, heartache, loss of beloved characters, preserverance and growth, to end it all like that?! are you kidding me?! ok, no, it wasn't a sad ending. but... what WAS it?? did time change? was she reborn? did they start a new timeline?? the ending was confusing and just left me with so many questions! I'm frustrated now!
when will the mothers start acting like mothers and not selfish people? when will they actually start caring about their children's emotions and mental stability? when will they stop using threats, manipulation and underhanded means to get their kids to lead the lives that THEY deem appropriate?? ugh. I'm so over both of these families and the people who keep interfering. I'm glad there's only 12 episodes left.
I am half way through the drama and I like well enough. The thing that stuck out to me is if this was "The Journey…
I was thinking the same thing! like, in so many other historical or fantasy c-dramas, he would be the perfect being. I just watched 'The Starry Love' a couple weeks ago, and Xuan Shang Jun was emotionless, didn't eat or feel hardly anything. His father was upset when he started having EMOTIONS! How awful! Can't be the perfect heavenly being if you have feelings. lol. So, I'm watching this show now, thinking "Dang, everyone here calls him a monster, but in the heavenly realm, he'd be revered!"
ya know, every time I think "Maybe I'll watch this show. I've heard how amazing it is", I come to the comments and remind myself of why I haven't watched it yet. "It breaks my heart into pieces and I will never be able to put it back together unless they make a season2" "No other dramas will ever break my heart as much as moon lovers did." "OFFICALLY THE SADDEST THING TO HAVE EVER BEEN AIRED ON TV, AND YOU CAN'T TELL ME OTHERWISE"
..... That's gonna be a nope from me. thank you everyone, for reminding me of why I keep NOT watching this show!
What don’t you like about J dramas? I’m asking about JBL’s in particular as I generally love them. Have…
jdramas (bl included) tends to have a melancholy feel, or kinda depressing, or just too toxic. I have found a few that I've liked (like this one), but over all I'm not big into Japanese style of shows.
I'm normally not a big fan of jdramas. but this one is REALLY good! also, while watching this, all I can think is, if Lee Dong Wook and Jimin had a love child, it would be Nakata Keisuke. He looks so much like the 2 of them! So now, I'm gonna need an omegverse BL staring LDW and Jimmin and they have a kid and that kid grows up and is played by NK. please and thank you.
