This one of the rare cases where 2ml character clearly outshines ml in every way possible.

These days most dramas start with fl being madly in crush/love with 2ml and tries everything to date him but after meeting ml and spending time with him. They realize what love is, so immediately they ditch 2ml and fall into ml arms, all they need is to find tiny fault in 2ml behavior.
Degrade 2ml characters as much as possible without any reason.
If ML is a jerk, give him some sentimental flashback. It will justify his behavior.
Generally after spending time with your colleague in the name of work or whatever, anyone can feel some kind of affection, some people with self control don't have and stay loyal, others simply gives in temptation, its how office affairs start.
