While i agree with most of what you said, i had to comment on your remarks about this mini series ignoring same sex relationship issue especially in korea where its taboo.
I cant agree more with how well is the phasing and development of the series and it didn’t feel rushed at all considering its short duration. This is only possible bc they stayed true to the storyline of this series without trying to touch on other tempting topics like same sex social prejudice. They chose their theme/topic, and they use short and effective dialogues and carefully chose impactful/ memorable scenes. This series storyline isnt about same sex issues and problems, and thats strong enough reason not to touch on that considering the entire series mood & short duration. And also there’s remarks of their friends saying “they have e/o” and its a subtle acknowledgment of their relationship. I think its sweet and pretty accurate depiction of how modern generation is indeed more open & accepting now.
Edit: I really cant see simple closure when it comes to dealing with same sex issue especially with family without resorting to sad ending or really premature conclusion & unrealistic acceptance. It needs its own storyline to able to really accurately deliver this issue. Its pointless to talk abt same sex issue in EVERY lgbtq+ series, and still close this problem with unrealistic conclusion. Otherwise, might as well skip the entire problem and leave it to other storyline to deal.
I think this is mini series is well made in that sense.
