I read it in Chinese. in the ending shen nuo's character was just a rich young master who sometimes helped MC. they only got together in the last parts of the novel. in the novel basically, every bad character died or ended in a way worse situation but they also committed very heinous crimes. eldest uncle and his wife died. The second uncle and his wife got divorced and ended up pretty badly. lian hua after her miscarriage got fed some type of medicine that made her really fat and her husband lost interest in her and got a lot of concubines slowly she died alone. lian ye was actually not the daughter of the second uncle but of the third uncle who was very timid and had no son so had no confidence. She actually recruited a husband in the family to live with her. grandpa died because so many bad things happened in the family and Grandma hated MC's family so she just remained a one-dimensional character. the drama is much better and gives a lot of depth to everyone.

I'm so happy they changed the story from the novel .it's much better this way. sure there could be some changes but overall I enjoyed the drama more than the novel.

actually the novel got great story with very nice pacing but they just took the basic idea and changed the whole script . there was supposed to be no romance more focus on comedy on how a priest from another world will fit in here and no evil one coming to mess up thing every episode . i was really looking forward to the drama when it was announced but it was a disappointment . i will recommend you read the manhwa for it it's not fully translated but it is much better.

if anyone wants to watch a similar vibe drama you can give meet yourself a try. it's a Chinese drama with 40 episodes. it doesn't have thriller part and 1st episode is a bit heavy when fl decides to move to the countryside for vacation but the rest is pure therapy for me. stunning visuals and cozy setting with a bit of romance.

romance ruined this drama for me. I have read the original novel a bit there was no romance in it. it was more focused on the comedy, how a priest from another world will act as an idol. here every two minute the evil one will come and shift the entire story . even in ending there is no romance, he goes back to his own world, original returns and he takes a photograph of his friends that he made here. maybe I'm biased but genuinely original work is much better. unfortunately, the novel is not fully translated otherwise I would recommend everyone to read a good novel rather than watch a below-average adaptation.
