Don't know if I can answer question 1 but for no.2 it's a way to show that everyone is getting their deserved krama. Although Chairman Kang's father feels bad after his sons death, he is now getting the consequences of raising both his sons horribly, "I can't believe I did all this to take care of him".
In short it shows that in the end the 1st born son will stay horrible and the father will have to deal with the consequences of his actions.

As sad as I was I have to agree. It was such a poetic ending and La El's character development was on point. Had it happened to her earlier she probably wouldn't have been able to live with herself but her being at peace was kind of beautiful.
