I personally am in your position. Do not like the main roles. I tried to watch episode 1 but FF it. I think in my case I dislike drama were they try to make light/add comedy to seriously heartbreaking moments. She does deliver one of the most realistic lines regarding being cheated on. But that was it. Trying to make light of the cheating. That is a turn off for me.

Ok we all felt how serious the moment when FL revealed to ML the identity of masked man to ML. They both portrayed realistic emotions perfectly. But omaiga hahahaha..... the FL explaining all the scenarios viewers thought could possibly be his reaction [come on you all know you went there, and that is usually the misunderstanding most dramas create at this level of episodes between the leads] was hilarious to me. She broke the 4th wall.
I think the emperor is faking it. He clearly was preparing his son. Not the best father of the year. Pretending he dislikes his son and being harsh to him to make him strong. Fortunately ML grew up upholding the memory of his mom, whom must have been an awesome lady. I think he is faking it to draw out the snakes. Yes he is ill, but him not waking up. That part and the Eunuch is probably in the plan. Just my thoughts.

Ok. Hear me out. I had a friend that was waiting for this drama and I decided to check it out. So i look at the leads previous works and holy moly. The ML is the actor from the cambrian period. How is that even psosible? I have only seen him in that drama which i watched while airing back in 2017. Because of Mike He common my 1st crush i even had his pic in my office, first drama of his i watched back in 2005 was from my fave manga back then “Akuma de Sourou” and the FL can you say"Ya Long" my fave novel and drama to date of that genre "The Journey" back to the ML , is this correct? I mean how can the cambrian period face be this face? Not possible. Now regarding the drama it is quite odd and I think that maybe fated hearts broke me -_-
How beautiful the brief monologue our FL gave to the dance house lady. Also it was a revealing insight as to why she could be so strong when the same thing happened to her.
