It just feels like the classic 'break up for no reason' trope... quite disappointing.
I may agree with your opinion, it makes much sense. But still the situation has that feeling of something that was done just because it had to be done, to keep the tension high and to make a cliffhanger in one episode or two. But it's just a thought.

You have a point. Anyway there are also cases with a more 'selfish' reason behind a breakup, I'm thinking about When the weather is fine, the first breakup in It's ok to not be ok, or Because this is my first life. Maybe it is a newer trend ? :-)
A thing I really appreciate in this drama are the movie quotes scattered throughout: In episode 3 there is the scene of May throwing a bone in the basket, then the bone bounces in the air just like in 2001: A Space Odyssey, with the same Strauss music. Then the well-known quote from E.T., in episode 6. In ep 8, as pointed out by another comment, there is the scene of May asleep with her eyes open, as in the scene of the horse head in bed, from the Godfather. Here Mi Joo screams just like she actually saw a severed horse head :-) And then there is the black & white scene imagined by Mi Joo in episode 6, with the piano and the bottles of wine, which must refer to some old movie but I don't know which one.
And I guess there are several others that I haven't recognized.

Thank you very much :-)
