This drama is a rollercoaster ride of emotions! ES & HW are so cute - but at the same time it makes me nervous that they could break up any second.
My favourite character is MY - what an incredible, strong and at the same time broken woman! You feel every emotion with her and now that you know what really happened back then, it just hurts even more. I am afraid of HW's reaction when she finds out what really happened back then and what kind of person her father was.
I find BY to be a really complex and fascinating character. So I wrote down some thoughts about her. From her point of view she is the victim in every situation. And she has been since high school: She tells HW's secret to others, but it's just a misunderstanding. I don't know where she sees a misunderstanding here, because she has clearly passed on a secret of HW to someone. There was no misunderstanding. BUT when HW won't forgive her, she tells everyone that HW is angry with her because of a misunderstanding. She takes the victim role because HW won't listen to her and forgive her for something that wasn't really BY's fault. It is only much later that it becomes clear that this is not true at all, and that BY was wrong and should have apologized properly - and even if HW didn't want a friendship anymore, BY should have accepted it.
In the meantime I read a few comments that BY was still a teenager and that everyone was far too strict with her - but it should be clear to everyone that HW was also a teenager at that time. In addition, she lost her father - who she at least believed was a good person - and her mother is in prison for his murder. That's an incredible amount for a teenager to take all at once and she doesn't need another "friend" to stab her in the back and then insist it was a misunderstanding.
The next point is her one-sided love for ES. Now that we have 12 episodes behind us, I think everyone knows what kind of personality ES has. He's introverted, shy, and even though he's beginning to open up, he was a lot more reserved in High School than he is now. You can tell that by the fact that he didn't save HW when she tried to kill herself, he called her aunt and looked after HW behind the scenes. When you are in love with someone who is so reserved and, as BY himself puts it, "always plays a side role", you can't wait for that guy to suddenly confess his love for you. He was in love with HW himself and didn't make a sound - so why is BY waiting for him to read her mind and talk to her first? And again she takes the victim role because HW is so radiant that even ES, who doesn't really care about anyone, is attracted to her. So it's HW's fault again that BY can't approach ES?
High School is over, almost ten years have passed and BY has her own problems - her family circumstances are not the best, we all know that. Actually, we don't know exactly what she has been doing for the last ten years, we only know that she obviously hasn't, or at least barely, met ES and the others. Now HW reappears and the game starts all over again - she wants HW's forgiveness for her so-called misunderstanding. Now we are all adults, we could say HW can forgive her now, but I understand why she doesn't. At the time this event was something that almost drove HW to take her own life. Yet for 10 years it has been dismissed as a misunderstanding when it was not. So HW does something that I found incredibly generous of her: she says she needs time. But for now she doesn't want any contact. She does not give a final answer. What BY is doing now is this: she is using this whole story to get back in touch with ES after 10 years - 10 years where she could have called ES, met him, etc. without HW being involved. And I doubt she is doing this because she is still in love with him, she is doing it because he and HW are now close.
But when ES doesn't show the reaction she wants him to show, she does nothing and waits again - we don't know for what, because she doesn't try to get to know ES better proactively, like you do when you like someone and maybe even want to date him. Only much later she tries again, but ES is already taken. Although she was the one who did nothing, she takes the victim role because she liked ES before HW. But if we look at this whole plot line, BY knows practically nothing about ES, while HW has used the past weeks/months to get to know him and fall in love with the person he is.
I understand that BY has her own problems and in her family she may rightly be a victim, but at least towards ES and HW she acts - intentionally or not - manipulatively and irrationally. I don't know if she herself knows what she wants to achieve with her little trip to the forest. Does she think ES will fall in love with her when he gets her out of there? Does she want him to save her so she can put her first love behind her? Does she want to hurt HW, but not admit it? Does she think it's a token of love from ES, if he goes into the woods to save her? Everything she has done since she told HW's secret seems to me that her kindness and sweetness, which I really adored about her at first, is just a mask to hide her complexes. She wants to be liked, that's why she acts so kind but she is not genuine.
Anyway, I am curious if we will ever know what her plan was. Judging by the preview, she doesn't seem to have had any influence on the relationship between HW and ES yet. But we also know that you can't trust previews, right?
I'm really enjoying this one <3 Mewadee is so cute :) I'm just slightly buffled how people pretend that she is a kid. She is not 12, she is 19 :D I cracked up when they talked about her hitting her puberty - like what? :D
There is something off about peat’s behavior... i think there must be a reason for him to act this way he might…
I think the writers are going for the revenge route. So I doubt that he has other reasons - I'll be glad if he had a damn good reason though. I actually was suspecting that it would be Kiew that ends up sick and he feels more guilty about his douchebag behaviour. But we'll see I guess.
Ill be glad also if the ml doesnt end up with kiew for a change hahahahah so brutal this guy i dont want to see…
That's the thing that's so ridiculous. He is playing his games and afterwards he is playing the pitiful dude that's so in love with the girl he just emotionally destroyed. So my pity for him is like none existent :D And for Chaya: Yeah she is pitiful, but she also chose to close her eyes to the obvious games that Peat plays. I mean he is only really tender to her, when Kiew is seeing it. That should be a red flag for Chaya. I never felt that she was a "stable" person. Right from the start, she was pretty possessive of Peat. It's funny that she is working so hard to get Kiew out of Peats life without realising that without Kiew, Peat wouldn't care for Chaya. At least not as a lover. I do think he did care for her as friend though. It's just that he is a major jerk and he knowingly uses Chayas feelings for his stupid revenge.
I am hating Peat right now but I still want them to end together tho. I want to see him show his love for Kiew…
I whished them the best when they were in Korea and Kiew told him how she felt and he was actually telling her that he loves her more - well she was unconscious but still. I thought it was a really cute and well-done moment between them. But calling Chaya over and hurting Kiew again AFTER she made her feelings clear and was reasoning with him... There are 5 episodes left and Peat needs to do a LOT of things before I can see him deserving a wife like Kiew. Just like you said there needs to be a lot of suffering on his part. This episode made me really angry. Sorry for the rant :D I was expecting so much after the last episode T.T
Gosh... I just watched episode 19 and I honestly don't want Kiew to be with Peat anymore. She deserves so much better! Peat is being a huge a**hole here! No matter how hard I try to find arguments why he should end up with Kiew, I just throw them all away when he is being a jerk again. I don't care that he is hot! I do even feel sorry for Chaya - although she is being a major b*tch as well. But she is getting deceived too and she also seems mentally unstable. Run, Kiew! Run and find someone who is not as petty, irrational and bipolar as Peat. Seriously, he needs some therapy. I don't even get his reasoning. Because he read in the diary that his dad - that is not even his biological dad, yet still loves him and treats him like a son! - left his mom on the wedding night, he just blows it all? He already was partly at fault for Kiew's mom's death - which Kiew forgave him!!! - but one freaking diary entry turns everything back to the point where he is blinded by revenge? What about Kiew's mom then? He is being so stupid that I'm really angry when he is having his stupid reasoning. I don't care for his "getting hurt while getting revenge". He is doing this to a whole lot of people and clearly doesn't treasure the love Kiew and everyone else has for him. He is bascially just playing the abandoned and hurt dude who is not getting enough love, while people basically shower him in love. Now that the outside world knows he is not the real son but Kiew is the real daughter, they should just keep it low, divorce quitely and when everyone forgets about it, dad can adopt him. That's the happy ending I can accept as of now. I don't see Kiew and Peat together anymore. She can do so much better.
Oh noooooooo! I need to know what will happen next! I really hope there will be a second season T.T
I really liked the storytelling here - it kind of gave an online game feeling! Most of the characters are likeable. As for the romance in here - first of all Xiao Yan is 100% a player. The amount of girls he is basically collecting is unbelievable. Nevertheless the only "serious" one I see is actually Xun Er. I watched this drama on viki and I felt like a lot of people supported Yi Xian. Don't get me wrong, she is cute and lively and everything, but I never thought Xiao Yan saw her as a woman? Besides he never even spend a thought on all the girls he met (or/and promised marriage to) when he was not with them. While at least for Xun Er she was constantly on his mind. Yeah, maybe because she grew up with him and was family but at the same time he really hated the thought of Xun Er being married to someone else - even though that jerk is also not willing to marry her (told you, he is a player). So in my opinion he is far from wanting to be her big brother and she definitely means more to him than the other girls around him - romantically.
As for Xun Er's "betrayel" - honestly speaking I don't think she was betraying him. She thought he would die, there was nothing she could have done for him and it was a devastating situation for her. The only thing that was kind of dissapointing for me was that she didn't stay with him until he died. I actually thought it was for the better that she took the amulet instead of the evil guys. And she promised him to avenge him. So no matter what, Xun Er's feelings for him are true and she would have never left him if she knew that he had a second life. Every episode in this drama tells you that she is unconditionally loyal to him. So for me it is more tragic that she left without knowing that he is alive and I'm not dissapointed that she took the amulett with her.
Anyways I'm curious about how this will end who knows? Maybe I'm completely wrong here! I really like Medusa as well, so I'm looking forward to seeing more of her.
It's funny that the ending kind of caught me off guard. After all, I knew from the very first scene of this short drama how it would end, but I still hoped until the last second that things would work out differently. This is truly a tragic love story that I won't forget for a while. The acting was great, the music was amazing and I didn't regret a second. 10/10
No words can express how fascinated I was with this lakorn. I literally binge-watched this for the last few days. It’s not a perfect lakorn – the writing is off at some points, the acting is off at some points and there are probably a lot more things that is not perfect here – but I was still hooked from the very first minute.
I can't... this couple is just... woah. I love them. More than anything this lakorn is a love story. The sideplots are okay but I wasn't too interested. The main couple is what kept me mesmerized. It was just everything – from the moments they longed for each other to the countless times they assured each other in their feelings. There was never a doubt that they were meant to be – not even a second. I was really scared that Rin would leave him at some point, because let’s be honest as awesome as he is, he still killed countless people. But Rin never let go of his hand. Not even a second. Another point why this is a really good love story is you can see their feelings for each other basically written all over them. Even small gestures (like a touch on his shoulder, or he is stroking her hair for a second, a smile) were filled with love and longing. Those two really got me to the point where I could only live with two options for the ending: they die together, or they live together! There is no way one of them could live without the other. It was expected that all people involved in evil deeds will die in the end – which is why I always expected a sad ending for this lakorn. As much as Wayu is a good guy he did still bad things in the past. But I guess he was lucky to meet Rin. She was the light that guided him out of the darkness. She was his second chance. And even though they went through a lot it was all worth it in the end. Wayu and Rin definitely turned into one of my favourite lakorn couples ever. They had drama – a freaking lot of drama – but they made it through it together. There was no petty break-up or useless fights or even involvement of other love interests that actually stood a chance. From episode 1 to episode 18 it was always Wayu and Rin.
I wasn’t too much bothered with the side-characters. In the beginning I was kind of afraid to see Marissa too much but she was a really bearable second female lead. She loved Wayu but honestly she never did anything to really hurt Rin or endanger Wayus relationship. Yes, she was telling him to stop fantasizing about Rin since they can’t be but she also took it with pride when she saw that Wayu and Rin can’t be apart from each other. Sarut being the main villain in the end took me a little bit by surprise but I didn’t mind. I didn’t really like him from the start. But since he seemed to be a good guy I couldn’t fully hate him – well that changed midways :D I pitied him a little since he was actually tricked but his own greed and selfishness brought him to where he ended. The daddys had their own issues but I think they truly loved their children – even though they sometimes did horrible things to them.
I really liked the love story – everything else was well… everything else. In the end it all revolved around how the couple can get out of this mess to find their happy ending. Sure, there is action and drugs and other stuff, but it was never the focus of the story. Wayu doesn’t try to be a hero. He is not interested in changing the world and uncover drug deals – all he wants is a life with Rin. Rin also is a good girl but there was no moment where she actually tries to change the world for the better e. g. forcing her dad to stop the drug dealing thing. There is only Wayu in her eyes. And the best part is: I would totally rewatch it because every episode is another love confession between Wayu and Rin. I never watched a lakorn before where the couple had so many romantic interactions! Seriously: If someone knows a drama (doesn’t have to be Thai) with this kind of couple, please tell me :D
As stated the story is off at some points, the acting is also weird sometimes (even Wayu is weird sometimes) but I gave this a 9,5 because I think the love story was deserving of this!
… I really don’t understand the logic of Da. I mean I know she is hurt and I totally understand that she is devastated after the man she loved committed suicide but putting the whole blame on Raveet is a little bit too farfetched? According to Da’s logic Prasin killed himself because Raveet seduced him and threw him away afterwards but everything Da witnessed (Raveet breaking down in front of Prasin’s dead body; her visiting his grave) should actually make her question her assumptions? Plus, she started despising Raveet after seeing the photobook – where Jane is also shown btw – but no picture was implying that Raveet and Prasin are more than friends. It also is kind of weird to me that Da and Prasin were evidently dating – I mean Tawan doesn’t appear out of nothing – but none of his friends (it’s a 10-year-long friendship!!) knows about her existence? There is more to it and I can’t get rid of the feeling that Pring is involved. Maybe she lead him on under Raveet’s name or she was playing with him. After all he never mentioned Raveet's name in the letter. And even if Prasin killed himself because Raveet didn’t love him back I don’t think you can put the blame on her. She is not obligated to feel the same way about him. Da needs someone to blame and that's Raveet. I just hope that Raveet’s younger male cousin is saving the day because as far as I can see it (and it frustrates me so much) none of the primary involved are even trying to figure out what exactly happened. They all just assume things.
PS I agree with the other comments: Men are so stupid and slow in this lakorn -.- AND everything would have been solved already if someone actually asked Raveet about what happened with her and Prasin. But no! Let’s listen to people who evidently hate her because they probably know the best and don’t have a hidden agenda, right? -.-
Just finished watching this movie and I cried buckets. I just feel so sorry and angry at the same time. It started so sweet with all those good relationships that made you smile. So Yool cared. She always cared. Whether it was for her best friend Yeon Hee or her boyfriend Yoon Woo. She was trying to be a friend, she was trying to be honest. When she ran to her boyfriend in the rain crying because he chose Yeon Hee to be "Koreas Heart"; it broke my heart. It was basically the first sign of what was going to follow. All three main characters did wrong but although So Yools actions are harsh I cannot bring myself to hate her for that. I just felt indescribable sorry to her. She loved them. She really did with all her heart and she was trying with all her might to hold on – but the ultimate betrayal, the kiss that she had to see, just cut the last rope of sanity and trust she had. While falling in love with someone else is not something uncommon I wished as her best friend and boyfriend they would at least give So Yool some respect, some pride. But they hid their relationship. After they confirmed their feelings for each other it seems that So Yool disappeared from their lives. Neither of them wondered where HER best friend / HIS current girlfriend is. Although the whole city seemed to know that So Yool became a mistress those two seemed to be left in the dark. They just lived in their happy newfound love which made my strong sympathy for So Yool even more overbearing. So Yool went far, she ruined the ones she loved and herself, but I can’t pin all the blame on her. I don’t want to because she tried her best before she got betrayed. In the end I wished that the people she loved the most in the world – Yeon Hee and Yoon Woo – would at least admit that they did wrong to her. Because they did. She was an innocent, sincere and extremely nice girl. But I was so hurt for her when those two people that meant the world to her pinned all the blame on her. Yes, she was at fault too. Yes, she did wrong. But it was not wholly her fault. Nevertheless, I also felt sorry for Yeon Hee and Yoon Woo at some point. They deserve So Yool being harsh to them but So Yool was too blinded by her jealousy and hatred that by hurting them she ruined herself. That’s why they all did wrong. No one is faultless here. Love, Lies. They had to experience it themselves. They broke each others hearts with the love they gave to each other and the lies that followed afterwards. It’s just a little bit sad that while So Yool was already destroyed those who broke her only saw the Lies in the end but not the Love that she had given them.
This is definitely a typical and often used Lakorn plot as people already stated. But I actually enjoy it. Maybe because it gets me angry and frustrated on a level were I actually want to know what ridiculous plan those evil people will execute next! Anyways be prepared because except for the leads, the male leads friend + family, art teacher and the grandma everyone has serious mental issues on this Lakorn. I probably write a review after it's finished next week :D

Love, Lies. They had to experience it themselves. They broke each others hearts with the love they gave to each other and the lies that followed afterwards. It’s just a little bit sad that while So Yool was already destroyed those who broke her only saw the Lies in the end but not the Love that she had given them.
