What im thinking is that those two couples, or at least North and Otto who are official partners in dmd, were just kinda meant to introduce the new pairings and keep people invested in future series with them. Also there could be a season 2/special episodes with Jamie and Marvis! So yeah even though we waned to see more they probably want content focused on them.

We Are is rly similar in my opinion. Some of the same actors as well and the plot has the whole friend group full of couples vibe, it had me laughing a lot!
