Yeah, i am disappointed in how they made that scene happen. It looks like an assault. I really like the drama,…
Your feeling is valid. Because this is in a historical setting and giving that time period, I'm more tolerant about the assault. If this was in modern setting, hell no.
I've never seen such a dumb and 'unprofessional' emperor in all of dramaland. I've seen a lot of cruel emperors…
I'm on episode 31, and it's so frustrated watching this emperor who is like a 10 years old in a middle age man's body and I'm insulting this 10 years old intelligence.

Like I said before, different perspective and I know some see it the way you do too. From my perspective, XS knows he made a mistake in hiding the acquisition but he was trying to find a solution to please all the parties involved. It's not just his decision to make. There are 3 companies involved. In the end, he was able to resolve all the issues to everyone's satisfaction. He is in love with JH and I don't see his behavior as stalkish but more like respecting her decision to break up but longing for her and see how she was doing. I can totally relate. Even JH was stalking XS on social media. Yes, he made a mistake but I think he definitely redeemed himself in the end. XS was feeling insecure, because even us as audience can see he loves her more than she loves him. So in the end, he wants to reassure himself he's important to her.
I've never seen such a dumb and 'unprofessional' emperor in all of dramaland. I've seen a lot of cruel emperors and evil ones but this one is just dumb as a brick.

Yes I get that you don't like him and considered him toxic so every action he does, you see it negatively. But I happens to like him. He's flawed for sure but he has changed so much for her and his way of thinking with compassion. He told his aunt that JH has changed him to be better. You see the dog purchase as manipulative, but I see it as him overcoming a childhood fear and learning to overcome and love regardless of that fear. Just different perspectives from how we see thing based on how we perceive the characters. Actually in the beginning, I hated JH character but she has so much character growth and XS has supported her in that growth. XS is so different from the usually ML, in that he didn't spoon feed her and help her solve the crisis and issues. He was realistic as an investor and didn't go easy on her. She overcomes all those issue by her own talent and strength, but with him support her in the background.

I was seeing it in the perspective of his way of asking if he's important to her. He was never sure of her feeling and if she was dating him because of Teng Yue. He was just asking for validation of her feeling for him, not necessarily to pick him over her career.
So we can't give our honest opinion about a drama or else we are called anti. I see that's how it is...
Yes I didn't see it that way either. Most people here are for the main leads and many were disappointed with the script and directing. There was no hate on the actors. But calling someone an anti just because they criticize the drama is too much, and that's just my honest opinion. Not being an anti :)
No hate phoenix but you have 0 respect towards people's opinions on this page and see every fan as an anti. Can…
Exactly. If we are antis or bai Lu haters, then SOKP would have been full of negative comments as well but most of the comments there were positive because the drama was well produced.

Well said. I think most of us here are from outside China (international) so we get no benefits (not being paid) to say we don't like the drama and how it's problematic.

Yeah I think all rating systems are flawed since it's open to the public and anyone can rate them, or someone can create 100 accounts to rate them. We just take it with a grain of salt. Sure, the rating of the drama will be the first to catch my eyes when I want to check out a drama but I usually read the comments to see if it will be worth my time.

I think with Douban, at least they do some sort of monitoring. That's why the opening score sometimes take weeks to determine. Unlike MDL, which is volunteer staff and you can rate episodes that haven't even aired yet and rate/review dramas as completed when it only just started.
