They got off way too easy. Most of them died by killing among themselves and the main villain died with one stab through the heart?? really now. No suffering, such a pain free death for all of them. What irked me the most was that Yu Lou didn't even die and there was no retribution for her. She was actually loved by 3 men. Lucky girl. SO Annoying.

The last 3 episodes were intense and my eyes were all red from crying but I didn't get any satisfaction from any of the villains' death. I'll put in spoiler below

I never really liked Bi Zhi and I have not changed my mine at ep 34. He's such a blockhead with no thoughts and belief in his head. I get that they are holding your wife and son hostage, but does he really have to put all his effort into helping them, He has not once resisted or give some signs of reluctance. Just slack off a bit, no need to show them how capable you are.

haha there were so many dramas where the FL thought she might be pregnant and us the audience were scratching our heads, 'how? when did they do it?' so it was the candle flicking lol

No it's not an act of stupid confidence. It's just the type of person she is. That she will risk her life for others, so why won't she do it for her husband? Yeah it might not be the smartest but her behavior is consistent.

I just finished ep 19 and I find her actions and reason for being upset at the ML very reasonable so I'm not even sure why people were so critical of her. She waited 2 months for the ML's explanation and he still didn't give it to her and she has her doubts because things didn't add up. Her acting on ep 16-17 were good. As a newer actress, I thought she did really well with her crying scenes and emotions. This drama is not a masterpiece and it's not meant to be, but I find it quite entertaining.

I like this explanation. Sometimes desperation or adrenaline can make someone especially strong as well.

She's very consistent in that. Didn't she go in front of one of her friend when she was being attacked? I think she even did that for the pregnant lady who she didn't even like. So why would she not go and save her husband?

I didn't like the intimate scenes in the novel, the first few times they did it. The ML was very brutish and the FL didn't enjoy it and was waiting for it to be over. Ir was quite painful to read, literally. I don't know if it got better later on.

Yup 2 birds with one stone but it would be a bit awkward for SJR to get together with her since it's known outside that she is JX's 'concubine'. Also SJR is of noble birth. I don't think he's allowed to marry a commoner.

Did you even watch the drama? I feel the complete opposite. The FL did so much for the ML when he was the one being cold and mean to her for half of the drama. She never hold grudges and I was thinking she forgives too easily. She was like the best wife to him. The only thing she did wrong was not telling him about the tunnel and she has made up for it by risking her life for him. I would say in this drama they FL made 75% of the effort and the ML made 25%.

I agreed about the concubine thing but you're talking about state affair that involved chancellor and high officials corruptions. You think he should tell his naïve, pampered and unworldly young wife?? Alot is at stake here. He is basically faking a criminal death. I'm with the ML here. He should not tell his wife.

I didn't realize ML and his 3 buddies are so high up in the hierarchy. I know Jiang Xu is cousin to the Emperor and Zhang Hua Yu is brother-in-law to the Emperor. What are the positions of SJR and Lu Ting in relation to the Emperor?

Their acting are fine with me. Not award winning but good enough that I don't feel like I'm watching a low budget drama. To each their own.
