I can also relate to this and the fact that the last 2 years I haven't really enjoyed dramas just like the way you mentioned it. I think it's not about the quality of the new dramas but about the fact that we have seen so many kdramas for so many years. The stories have started to get repetitive, every time a new drama is announced I read the plot and I can already think of a few kdramas I have seen with that exact plot. Characters are also getting repetitive, we have seen them all. I talk with friends who have just started watching kdramas and they love it because they have never seen them, never seen that plot so it's new for them, but not for me. I get surprised how they can like such a stupid show but I have already seen something like that 6 years ago while for them it's their first time.
I also believe the change in actors has made an impact at least for myself. Nowadays there are not many new actors that truly give amazing performances like Song Joongki, Lee Minki etc. I could give you a list with over 100 older actors that I find so talented that give us truly amazing performances yet I can't even count 10 new actors that are just as good. I hope I am wrong but I feel like nowadays they focus more on getting a handsome boy/gorgeous girl over a quality actor meanwhile my dearest actors are getting awful and cliche roles. For example Boyoung's role in Abyss. She is an amazing actress but she has done that role in more than 5 of her works. There was nothing special about her performance and the drama itself was poorly written or Lee Jongsuk. He has shown us so many powerful characters yet his last drama was awful I couldn't even get past episode 1 and I felt it must have been something wrong with me so I gave it another chance but I still couldn't get past episode 1.
These past 2 years I have been dropping more dramas than I have actually seen. I want to be hopeful that we can still get those dramas that give us butterflies and make us stay up all night.
honestly saying i will drop the rating if eunbi-yian happens or i will raise the rating is eunbi-taegwang happens…
people have different opinions. Bridal mask, cruel city and much more were such perfect dramas and the ending was exactly what a person would hate but those dramas still remain masterpieces to me because how the story and everything worked even thou the ending was not what people want
and also when u start watching a drama first of all u read the plot and see the actors and literally 99.9% of korean dramas make the leading couple end up together. the 0.1% is when one of them dies that they dont end up together
and i am not even biased to any of them cuz i am in episode 6 so im not rooting for any ship yet but i know that eunbi-yian will end up together. it's nearly impossible that eunbi will end up with taegwang
i do understand your point but to me i really would never do it. bridal mask literally traumatized me with its ending but i gave it a 10 and i will never change that and this goes for every drama i watch

i have a total different opinion on that. i can never rate 16 hours i have wasted based on 2 minutes where i already know who will end up together since the main female and male actors always end together
honestly saying i will drop the rating if eunbi-yian happens or i will raise the rating is eunbi-taegwang happens feels like such a big bullshit to me.
how can u rate a full 16 episodes based on the 2 minute ending?
honestly i am currently in episode 17 and i will finish it tonight but i dont get how can this drama have such low points. its an amazing drama, i love every bit of it. yeah i agree, at first i didnt like hye suns acting but it either got better or i got used to it. and i see many people complaining about ahn jae hyun. i totally loved his acting. i know he could have done a better job etc but it is still good i dont see a point in saying he is bad. i gave this drama a 9 so far cuz it really hooked me up since the first episode and i loved all the ending cliffhangers. most people didnt like it cuz of the vampire theme but this is the reason i started this drama. i love vampire themes and specially this one that made vampire-ism a virus was really interesting.
i saw also a lot gave the drama low points cuz of the ending but even thou the ending sucks i dont think i can lower the grade i gave for 17 other episodes
