Well, I don't usually do long posts. I just rant about the episodes with my favorite lovelies here and call it a night. Yesterday was amazing for me to not comment on, though. Firstly, this is more of my thoughts and opinions instead of an analysis post so I won't go into all the details that I can see as someone who has studied film. Also, it's the first time I am making a long post so I am bound to leave some things out. I apologize. Firstly, the acting. This series has hit a jackpot with the cast. There are no acting holes except for some scenes here and there which we can be very nitpicky about and it's something I'm not gonna do. Bible and Build were especially good in this episode. They embody Vegas and Pete and all the scenes felt very very real.
Now for the couples: Kinn and Porsche: Kinn is very attuned to Porsche's feelings at this point so he knows Porsche is hiding something. Nonetheless, he still wants to give him space to open up and tell him when he's ready. Did that create problems? Yes. But I also love Kinn for not pushing for answers. He also knew that visiting the parents may give Porsche some form of comfort so he arranged for it. That scene was wholesome and I loved it. Now, I saw some people talking about how Porsche was confused during the pool scene and it felt disconnected. I think I would rather use the word conflicted in this case. He has just found out something huge about his family. It is tied with the main family. He loves Kinn and trusts him but wants to keep it to himself for now until he has very concrete answers. That was a moment of lovemaking. He was not only grounding himself and reminding himself that Kinn is the man he loves but also hoping that this would allow Kinn to understand that Porsche will always return to his side. That was also the first time they've said I Love You to each other (atleast for the viewers). It has been implied many times with lines like "we are in love" and "i love him" but it was nice to see them say it to each other in actual words Again, the person he chose to ask for help will cause issues but I can see why he went there. The conflict of potentially having someone he loves related to the death of his parents is hard and affects his decision-making.
Vegas and Pete: I cried buckets and I'm sure many of you did as well. Pete says 'I have nothing left, not even my humanity...no feelings", implying that what Vegas does to him has broken him in more ways than one. But the next moment he also says "I have feelings Vegas" I don't know but this seems like the first moment of realization for Pete. He has lost everything and yet he feels something. Those feelings are towards vegas. they can be positive, negative, or whatever but they are feelings nonetheless. He cannot escape it. Just like we saw in the bar scene. There is no going back for either of them. Also notable is how they BOTH slid down to the floor. They are equals at this moment. Vegas no longer looks down on Pete. Pete caresses his cheek. "we may be apart but I am with you" is what I got.
Kim and Chay: I don't have much to say here. Chay giving Kim polaroids of their moments together and him collecting them gave me butterflies. We also got to see when exactly he fell in love with Chay so that was amazing. I am curious how they will bring these two together.
Pete and Porsche in the bathroom was an amazing scene too. Pete upholds his persona of wanting to spread more smiles and tears and Porsche understands that his best friend does not want to be pushed so he does not ask invasive questions when Pete requests him. The bar scene was sad cause he handed Pete over to the tiger again knowing what he did, but again he is dealing with the death of his parents which is mysterious so it's understandable. He also could have thought that Pete needed closure and Vegas has seemed more vulnerable and honest in these moments than all others combined..so...It irritated me but I give it a pass.
Khun continues to be the absolute best. he was the first to notice something wrong with the Pete situation and he was also the first to want to "find and help" Porsche cause he was scared even though the first thought would be that Porsche went against them.
I don't wanna talk about the whole cousins' issue cause that would open up a can of novel spoilers. I know I have not worded this very well..but it's okay.
Daily I Love You Mimi ❤️
