It was enjoyable to me. All these hate the show got made me watch the show yeah It is based on psychological adult light novel. Not everything could be shoved within limited amount of time 6 eps barely 20 min each. I wish it had 10-12 eps more . Even without reading the novel ,it surprised me how much i understood the story of these two flawed men , the creators did a great job . The subbing team did a bad job tho.
I also get why people dislikes it. This review seems more of a rant against people who liked the show and rated it high . I guess u encountered some pretty unpleasant people. Which can of course leave bad taste
I mean this series is based on adult psychological light novel . In order to understand story we have to understand mental state both of the characters.
Hira probably has some personality disorder which explains his obsessive stalker behaviorand the way he views kiyoi as some god and his purpose is to serve him plus hes also social outcast. He enjoys doings errands only for kiyoi so he could be close to him. Hard pill to swallow he doesn't really mind even if kiyoi is harsh on him . He loves him unconditionally. Yeah its weird but there's no logical explanation to it. Also hes aware he's a creep.
Kiyoi on other hand has abandonment issues . He grew up without love and developed this want to be idolized like how fans worships celebs(his way to think he can receive love) and hes a tsundere character. He kicked him while being drunk lol kiyoi is like a hissy cat also before he even asked to hook up of course hira he didn't get it bec hes super dense. His word kimoi for hira also changes meaning throughout the series
Of course their relationship dynamics is weird even hira's clg fren doesn't not understand why hira likes kiyoi so much. Kyoyama didn't even stand a chance against kiyoi lol hira is still very much obsessed with kiyoi. And kiyoi also loves hira back. Its mutual.
It just a story two men with their own issues and how they try to communicate their feelings. There is also two povs to understand the charac. They did a brilliant job to show us all these within 6 eps 20min each. This story is not for everyone 😒 plus the bad subbing has caused many issues .
