Article 'Bon Appétit, Your Majesty': Chinese actor sparks controversy over remarks about K-actor he dubbed
Personally, I have only learned one 2nd language, Spanish. I know I will not sound like a Mexican or Spaniard…
Hello! It's great that you learned Spanish, but yes, it is one of the most difficult languages to learn as a foreign language because of its many varieties of regionalisms, accents, idioms, etc. For example, in my country we find several accents, regionalisms, and even in the same region there are words that mean different things from one city to another one. When I moved only 500 km far from my hometown I found that they called certain things in a different way and that led to funny situations, as when I went to buy "5 liters of "perfumina"" (which in my birth city was to wash the floor) and the seller of the shop opened her eyes wide and asked "5 liters??? Are you sure?" because "perfumina" means textile deodorant here, and 5 liters was a huge amount of it. By the way, we also have "lunfardo" and other variations that makes Spanish sound almost as a different language to foreigners, because I'm from Argentina and the variety from the Río de la Plata or "Rioplatense Spanish" which is spoken mainlly in Buenos Aires province and part of Uruguay, sounds like "italian" to people from abroad...
