Not an Easy Watch, But Definitely Worth the Patience

This is one of the dramas on my long list of on-hold dramas. Despite being one of the most anticipated dramas of 2026, I honestly wasn’t planning to watch it anytime soon. And although the cast is packed with traffic stars, I went in with little to no expectations.

I started it and watched the first two episodes, but then put it on hold because I just couldn’t find it interesting at the time. I did admit, though, that the cinematography was really good. It actually reminded me a lot of Journey to You.

I eventually came back to it, and I think it really started picking up around episodes 3 or 4 because I got hooked on the Fox Sisters. From there, I just continued watching.

The plot is actually really interesting, but it can be difficult to understand. You really need good attention, comprehension, and a lot of brain cells to keep track of each character and their connections. Honestly, I think this is the kind of drama that might need at least two or even three watches to fully understand the story.

I won’t give any spoilers, but I’d say don’t give up on it too quickly. Give it another chance, and maybe even rewatch it once or twice. It gets better once you understand the plot and how everything connects.

As for the music and OSTs—I loved them all. I even downloaded some of the songs. I’ve always known Ju Jing Yi more as an OST singer than an actress because I genuinely love her songs, so I was actually surprised by how much I enjoyed her acting here.

The fight scenes were also really satisfying, and I think the entire cast did a good job.

For me, the standout performances were definitely Tian Jia Rui as Ji Ling and Chi Wen. His emotions and the changes in his temperament were amazing to watch. I already knew Joseph Zeng and Chen Du Ling would deliver great performances, and they definitely did. But what surprised me the most was Ju Jing Yi.

To be completely honest, I initially thought she might be the weakest actress among the main cast. But she actually made me change my mind as the series went on. She improved so much throughout the drama, and I ended up really liking her character—second only to Tian Jia Rui’s for me.

When it comes to chemistry, don’t hate me, but I didn’t really feel that much chemistry between Joseph Zeng and Chen Du Ling. Their flirting was cute, though. 😅

But Tian Jia Rui and Ju Jing Yi's chemistry was what made the drama even more compelling for me. Their relationship, especially the sacrifices they made, added so much more emotion and depth to the story.

Overall, I think this is a good drama, but I definitely wouldn’t recommend it as a first C-drama for new viewers. It’s more suitable for people who enjoy mystery, slow-burn storytelling, complicated character connections, and plots that require you to actually pay attention.

It takes patience, but if you’re willing to give it a chance—and maybe watch it twice or even three times—I think it gets much better once everything starts to make sense.
