Yeah, she was more expressive through caring actions and conflicting harsh words, like her character in the novel but more toned down version for the drama.

Does anyone have any information on the screenwriters for TTEOTM. Their MDL information is limited. I'm curious if they are relatively new writers or have more credits? I wonder how they got the job of adapting the novel. The first 1/4 of the drama killed it story-wise.

I really like your insights on the nuanced acting and story-telling. I feel like that first 1/4 of the show was so strong script-wise. If only the nuanced story-telling had continued at the same level for the entire series. I love the drama for all its flaws but can't help but think it could have been even more epic! Release the director's cut please!

I noticed how TTJ asked Lan An if she regretted betraying him before deciding to finish her. It reminded me of the dungeon scene after YXW tried to kill TTJ during the wedding. YXW said she didn't regret what she did even if there was no one to save her. I felt really bad for TTJ to hear those words from YXW. She can be so cruel to TTJ and decent to everyone else. Sighs. TTJ couldn't bring himself to kill YXW even after her betrayal.

I'm also curious about the answers to your questions. I watched the last episode again and it seemed that LSS destroyed TTJ's evil bones, the red crystal in his heart. Then TTJ extracted a white crystal and destroyed it himself after he put the dragon protecting scale in LSS. I think the white crystal may have been LSS' divine essence.

TTEOTM is the only xianxia series I was able to finish and am still hooked on. I haven't really liked another fantasy series since LBFAD and Princess Agents. I'm so glad there's this forum of TTEOTM fans here to hang out with here.

I saw Reset already and loved it! Thanks for the rec anyways. I would consider Reset a mix of genres including crime and time travel. Have you seen Be Reborn in the crime/heist genre? I liked that one too because it was fast paced and the leads were smart.

I'm currently watching LIS and Here We Meet Again. They are both light-hearted modern rom-coms. I'm off the angst romance for now while trying to recover from TTEOTM. I can recommend both as they are funny and the main leads have chemistry. For Here We Meet Again, you have to get past the first episode and then it really picks up.

I'm also looking for a crime drama to watch. I finished The Knockout, The Long Season, The Bad Kids and The Long Night. Does anyone enjoy crime dramas and have something to recommend in that genre?

I remember that YXW put a blanket on TTJ when he was sick during the night after kneeling in the snow and being whipped. That was in episode 2. Then when YXW woke up in the morning, she was sleeping on the same blanket. He must have covered her up when he woke up but that scene wasn't shown. I'm not sure if that's the scene you are referring to with the blanket.
