I haven'tt started watching it yet , but from the overall plot I honestly think the ML is the real bad one — even worse.
He chose to become evil just to change his lifestyle and be rich. He could’ve chosen not to, but he still did it. He only realized anything when things started getting tough for him. The wife was born into that kind of environment. How can you expect a child growing up in that family to turn out good? That doesn’t excuse her actions, but it explains why she is like that. Meanwhile, the ML had a choice — and he still chose that path. That’s why blaming only her feels unfair. He made his own decisions and only regrets them now because it backfired.
