"Hello, Mr Director?" "Yes, I am speaking" "I got another main sponsor for our series!" "Really? Beside 7/11 and the prefab house? That's fantastic. What is it?" "Yeah, they're selling camping stuff." "Oh....So, how can we get that into the series?" "Well, they could go to the beach?" "Oh dear, they're doctors. They don't have time. They cannot..." "Why don't we let them have a camping event in their garden?" "That's brilliant. We have all the sponsors in one pic - they're sitting in the camping seats, in the back the prefab house and are eating and drinking 7-11 stuff".. Why do I think that recently series are mainly built around ads than plots?
First season is my absolutely fav BL series. And the first episode of the 2nd season also did not disappoint me... I love the maturity on one side, but especially Shiro's insecurity on the other. Imagine, if this were played by some 20ies actors! It's so refreshing...
There are movies I forget the following day after watching them. And then, there are movies, I can remember after 20 years. This is clearly one belonging to the second group.
I actually started watching it, because I like mature characters. An 42yo character sounded promising and it is! Shim Hee Sub is so handsome...
When I started watching the film, I thought it is nothing special. But especially the second half was so in-depth and emotionally captivating. When the movie finished, I had tears in my eyes.
It makes sense to me why he was upset but I get where you are coming from. The whole time i was yelling "WHY WOULD…
But I guess you would talk with your bf and try to sort that out. That's what never happens in Thai series. They never talk it out, make it always worse. And in the next episode, the final, they then talk and realise that there is and never was a problem. And then they happily live ever after. That is why this episode 11 was soo bad, at least for me.
I have to say it's frustrating and tiresome the way Jom just stands and says nothing all the time when people…
In the novel it is explained in .ore details. Since we are in a time, when the north was still semi-autonomous, the language differs from the southern Thai. Jom can speak the northern dialect, but in a weird way. The series fails to convey this.
Not a fan of Ja and First. I did not like them in Don't say no. But I like this one here. This shows me that it was the story of Don't say no, not the actors. Ja in the role of this naive and shy hyper-obsessed fan suits him really well. He clearly looks younger here. I really enjoying this at the moment. Hope it stays this level.
I actually find this "fairy tale" feeling refreshing. I cannot understand that most BL fans always need something totally "realistic". Why not watch a docu instead? BL is fantasy if you believe it, or not. And this series is fantasy squared...
I think because it’s cold. It’s January. As far as I know in house in winter is really cold in Korea , only…
Still not really convincing. I have seen that behaviour also during summer time and many other places outside Korea. And I am sure, Korean houses - at least the modern ones - have heaters.
They should make it mandatory to read the mission cards. I do not even understand why they do not do it. Aren't they interested in that game? They wake up all so late that others are able to grip cards early; then they don't read the cards properly. I had the feeling most did not even know that they were entitled to reject the dates...
I am just confused. This is the most un-gay-ish dating series I have ever watched. Except maybe, that all those guys are shown doing make-up all the mornings and talk about dating guys. Okay, they talked a bit about being gay during that Jenga game some episodes ago.
I understand. This is for a general auditory, so discussing cock size and best ange to shove it up the ass isn't the best for a general public. I have never had a date where gay topics have not played a role. You could easily switch every second contestant here with a female, and everything else would still work.
Another point, not related to his alone: Why is it that people nowadays run around in coats and jackets in the house? I saw some even sitting down for meals having their's on. I am neither a male Karen, nor Republican, but maybe just a bit conservative. Especially during one-on-one dates I find that extemely rude. I met people doing that in real, and it always gives me the vibe that people are just on a jump dating with me. But that's not really an issue to drop stars here, just a general observation.
1. The background music is killing me. It's meniac. I had even the feeling that it is even louder than usual in ep 3.
2. The quality of the series, the tone, the filming, the colours etc., went even worse. Not that it was good in the previous two episodes, but ep 3 had, in parts, the charm of someone filming the surroundings with a mobile phone.
3. The story is confusing?
4. Do translators communicate with each other? Or is it a split personality who translates this? Otherwise I cannot explain that one person is translated with 3-4 different variants of his name.
Step by Step is program here. I took about 7 hours to watch the 2-hours long final episode. It's always a bad sign if a series makes time jumps into the future (2 years later)... But no one has developed. I just could not watch it in one rush. Actually, I do not even know how I could watch it at all. But it is over now. Thank god!
The cut version is totally different than the uncut one. Usually, they cut out some steamy scenes, kisses etc. but this time, whole plots are missing. For instance: The part where Thana is cheating on Patis is missing in ep 5. Ep 6, however, starts with them fighting about just this. No wonder that I could not make sense of this series. I overcame my pride this time and watched ep 6 on platform, uncut.
I like your theory. After Addicted Love and Make Every Day Count it seems like the writers and powers that be…
One of the unwritten rules of BL is that BL has to have a happy ending. Some writers and directors do not hold to this rule. Addicted Love was actually meant to be happy ending, but due to the Chinese censorship it was changed. Make our days count has, in fact, not a sad ending. It is just that the second novel was never filmed. There are only a few Thai BL I can think of which have a bad ending: What the Duck and He's coming to me. The Miracle of Teddy Bear isn't really a BL, but a Lakhorn and therefore does not follow the BL conventions. I commented somewhere else that 99.9% of all BL are happy endings. Ships hardly ever sink in the series, only in reality, because fans often have too much imagination (like now with Ohm and Nanon, LOL).
The series lives up to its name.I find those 74-77 minutes exhausting. While I often complain about plots which…
Then, I do not really like those tropes in BL. Do the writers think, that "gay" life is just about being jealous/envious? Always an ex-gf, ex-bf coming up. Pat is behaving like an infant - I mean, how old is he? 22-25? A university graduate? Crying like a baby because a client came up to him? Which matured business man, a CEO, heir of a rich family wants to have a bf like that? It feels artificial. Then, what is it about "hiding" in front of your best friends, keeping all like a secret, doing like it's a scandal if they know about your relationships? Aren't they your best friends? And Jarb/Jeng...always doing like hating each other, until one of them threatens to leave and the other suddenly realises "it"...
The series lives up to its name. I find those 74-77 minutes exhausting. While I often complain about plots which are done in warp speed, or not having enough time, I feel they stretch every small scene in Step by Step like a chewing gum. I cannot watch it at a stretch; I have to take breaks over and over again. It's not always positive to take one's time. The story in itself is okay, but a bit of speed, please....

I don't want to read through the comments, because people here don't put spoiler alarms on.
