I read the comments but decided to watch this either way because the synopsis still seemed interesting to me. So far I’ve finished ep 2 and it’s actually pretty good. The acting (which I saw quite a few negative comments about esp fl) isn’t bad?? The story is progressing well imo nothing to be super confused about. Ofc there’s things that aren’t clear yet ITS ONLY BEEN 2 EPISODES lol. There isn’t much romance so far and the comedy might not really hit for everyone but you can still tell it’s maintaining a ‘romcom atmosphere’. I feel this has potential to be a good (maybe even great) watch if it stays consistent plot wise. Anyways if anyone’s on the fence and not sure whether to start I suggest trying to watch ep 1 and see for yourself.
The first half was actually pretty good idk what happened at the end. Like there was suddenly so much going on but also felt like the story wasn’t progressing?? We suddenly lost the plot midway and it was hard to finish. But I think it’s worth watching for the good half
Yoh the mother is really frustrating me shem. Like why is she in everyone’s business like that😭😭 Huan is really so patient because if my mom was bulldozing through my life like that we’d probably end up estranged. And I find it funny how she felt it was okay to talk down on Jianliang when she thought he was poorer than them but got so mad when Jianliang’s family talks down on her daughter now. It’s just crazy to me how some people are very comfortable maintaining a pyramidal social structure when they feel they’re at a higher level but suddenly hate it once they’re at the bottom lol. Chenghuan being the one that keeps getting wrapped up in everyone’s schemes im really enjoying watching her character’s development and how she’ll break free
Just completed this and really enjoyed it. Im so surprised the comments calling it boring lol. I assume its because the romance wasnt very physical and the drama is a bit slow paced? Idk. For me it was exactly what i was looking for. A cute drama with some depth but not too dark or heavy. They delivered that balance perfectly for me.
I enjoyed most of this show up until the last episodes when they introduced that stupid overused breakup trope. The last 3 episodes were a drag to watch because i was trying so hard to understand the reasoning behind the main couple splitting. I couldnt find one up to the last episode because there was clearly no sensible reason besides probably trying to drag out the ending to fill time. They ruined a great drama with that imo. I endured till the end because i was still expecting theyd somehow redeem fl for me considering how well written the character was from the beginning. This idea that someone can just leave with no real explanations then return a year later CELEBRATING and the viewers should just ignore the manipulativeness and be happy about their reunion is CRAZY. In ep 16 when the scene moved from ML drinking soju wallowing and sad talking about how FL had gone very far away, to a scene where the FL is laughing with her friend at the sauna I just stopped watching it because in no way could i watch that and still see them as 2 people who loved each other. Ig it would have made sense to add that breakup troupe in another drama where the characters had not been sold to the audience as being mature, reasonable adults from the beginning and where they hadnt explored the meaning of love and marriage so deeply. It felt like they betrayed the whole message of the drama. The last episodes where enough to drop this from a 9 to a 6 for me (Long rant but this was just so frustrating yoh)
