I suspect she's the young concubine based on the actual story. Otherwise, can't see another significant character.
Nana playing as a Huiyeon/widow one (played by Jeon do Yeon in original movie). That leaves Sook (the innocent concubine) as the only major supporting character that didn't showing up yet in this remake. Either they make new character based by old ones, or totally ditched her character and make new subplot somehow.
Han sun hwa's character is a total mystery...maybe they'll give hints in the main trailer
This is me just do some guessing based by some search : two weeks ago sunhwa posted 2 pics on her IG, she at Scandal filming set wearing two sets of different attires (it's just pic of her shades really so not showing any obvious hint). One of them giving similar vibes with So-ok (played by Lee Soo Yeon in the original movie), the other one resemble either high-ranking noblewomen or gisaeng.
Also, back in december there is this background performer on 필름메이커스 커뮤니티 forum who added Scandal as her upcoming works on her profile page, where she'll be 소옥 스탠딩 대역 (So-ok stand-in double).
Given that So-ok are the only major supporting character in the original movie that not yet appear, and Sunhwa so far are the only announced cast that didn't have any named role (they did say that her character will be the original and doesn't exist on 2003 movie), I guess Sunhwa would be playing either : Sook character, albeit with different name (hence the "original character"), or someone who live an double life : one as Sook, the other as whoever that "original character" supposed to be.)
Netflix shows are not known for explicit scenes. They keep it PG-13.
Try to search Jung Jiwoo (director) works prior Scandal, or better, just watch his first drama works (Somebody, also on Netflix), then do some digging about JCW interview last December. And you can figure it out whether this one will be R-rated or straight Disney PG
Why put foreigners actress like Arden cho and ally achiraya if they don't have background in Kpop industry in…
1. Arden Cho also are producer in this movie. And production probably want to capitalize on her post-KDH fame as a movie selling point. 2. They got Jeon Somi as a main lead, Nancy (momoland), Siyoon (billlie), and Chaerin (cherry bullet), as a support cast. That should be adequate enough to emphasize "kpop background" 3. Based by early production notes , this movie gonna focused on horror-thriller aspect instead of kpop-music industry aspect. So this one probably gonna look like 화이트: 저주의 멜로디 rather than live-action KDH. 4. Since they do majority of the filming in Thailand, might as well cast a local rising star like Ally to score some global marketing point.
Also, to the recent id's who post the 2003 kr movie plot summary : did you guys even watch the movie or simply ask chatgpt to writing it out for you ?

So Scandal is slated for Q3 release.
