Mystic Nine Season 2 sent me on a tomb raiders drama tour. After Archives Nanyang Mystery, I picked up Tomb Raiders 2025, and now I am lost in the Lost Tomb. For 45 minutes episodes, each Lost Tomb episode seems longer. Time in the tombs does that to you. The plot and the acting are average. Some dialog or acting is cringy, but that might be one way to get the drama to pass the TV Censor Board. I have three more episodes left to watch. 😂😂😂
Yea, the missing piece was William Chan as Fo Ye😵💫
Because of the timeline, which might be pre-Mystic Nine 1, they could have cast a younger actor to play Fo Ye. There was prequel with a younger Fo Ye about a year ago. Archives' Fo Ye looks ten years older than Mystic Nine's Fo Ye.
The first two dramas I saw Han Dong in, were Nanjing Love Story and Love Lost in Times. They gave him the worst wig in LLIT. He and William Chan were in the drama.
I used to compare Han Dong and Ying Hao Ming. They have similar shaped faces and eyes.
Worst Drama Parents of the Year Award! They came across as a disillusioned and disgruntled couple, but you don't even know their circumstances, that you would even empathize with them.
The only thing I can say about this drama that ITS NOT FAIR was it's title GENIUS GIRLFRIEND (or am I wrong, I…
It was no surprise that Tang Ting Ting and Duan Qi Yan would end up in showbiz entertainment. Their respective careers were boring. It wasn't clear to me what Jin Bai Hui and Lin Ze Qiu's careers were. Or even Jiang Yi Bai's career! He seemed to be an inventor in the run down shop.
LOL The adult women's hair seemed to dominate their faces. Tang Ting Ting's long hair looked like a bad wig, and Lin Zhi Xia's hair was heavy.
I completed the drama in three days. I skipped a few episodes toward the middle of the drama as the school arc kept stretching. When I was in school, Time stretched interminably. The drama conveys this observation, as well.
The casting was good. My favorite characters were Jin Bai Hui and Lin Ze Qui. Least favorite was Shen Fu Xuan as a teenager. He matured with the passage of Time into an adult hairstyle. Th.e parents were either stiff or zealous. Hu Yi Tian seemed awkward as the teenager and the adult Jiang Yu Bai, who cleaned up his image in the final episode. Tian Xi Wei looked too old as a teenager.
I watched the first ten episodes. The high school subplot is interesting. I didn't have any of these experiences in school. I would never have made the experimental class. Their level of Mathematics is way above mine, and I was slightly above average in Mathematics most of the time. 😂😂 I can't wait for the post-university arc.
Wu Xie is the main character even in the main novel. Zhang Qiling and others are the side characters.
I didn't watch Lost Tomb because I was weary watching all the tombs in Mystic Nine. My friends often talked about Yang Yang as ZQL. I watched Ultimate Note with Joseph Zeng. I skipped some of the Tomb dramas.
Wu Xie is the main character even in the main novel. Zhang Qiling and others are the side characters.
LOL He's the fleeting shadow. "Don't blink, or you will miss him." When I watched Mystic Nine ten years ago, I followed a site that was recapping the drama episodes. I would see comments mentioning Zhang Qi Ling, and I wondered who he was. I had no previous knowledge of this Tomb franchise at the time.
Wu Xie is the main character even in the main novel. Zhang Qiling and others are the side characters.
I am surprised that Nan Pai San Shu did not get a bright idea to give him the drama spotlight. Zhang Qi Ling is the legendary mysterious superhero immortal anti-hero. Zhang Qi Shan became a sensation with Mystic Nine.
I really liked this drama, allthough I believe the first 10 episodes were the best and it went slightly downhill…
I watched this drama this week after Mystic Nine Season 2. I agree with you. The first half had some flow and function. The last half fell into murky tomb plots and pagan tribe rituals. The Mo villain was comical. He had too much screen time. Zhang Hai Xiu was the most impressive bipolar split personality villain I have watched.

What was the point of the two Third Uncles in the final scene?
