I don't know what's worse. Me watching these eps back to back and actually enjoying it or someone actually sat and wrote this crap into existance. It really reminds me of those manhua's where the ml would treat the fl like shit for 580 chapters and when the fl decides that she can't put up with him and decides to leave him, he suddenly loves her and is fighting for her back.
Every post I've seen about this show has either been horribly bad or amazingly good. Sooo... I decided to check it out myself, and I don't regret doing so. I'm really enjoying this drama so far. I honestly don't understand why it was being hated on so much.
Huh, you have such radically different feelings from the majority of commenters. Want to explore them more fully? For…
Thanks, I'll check it out!
It seems that you are fan of the whole "Boys Over Flowers" franchise, which would explain how you're able to dive deep into the characers and understand their intentions.
As for my perspective, I did not watch the Korean version. But did watch the Chinese version. I really didn't enjoy it. The male lead was not likeable, to me, and I could not watch further to see him in his redemption arc. So from coming from there to here, I did have my mind made up about what this drama was to portray. But I did see that they wanted this version to be a bit different, and I liked that, so when I saw the ml lashing out at the fl, in the beginning, knowing they were later to be together, that was just my frustration at the said, "cliches"
And I agree, this drama does excecute things in an unpredictabe way, that is what has me wanting to see more, to see the story unfold.
are you talking about the ACTING or the plot points/dialogue? i think you’re more talking about what the writers…
I think it's more so the dialogue. At times when they're having serious or emotional moments, I can't help myself but to laugh. It might be a me problem XD

Your explanation of the characters is great and very in depth! And I'm not disagreeing at all, but my take on likeability is me relating to the character and wanting to root for them. I just don't feel that way towards any of the characters so far :(
The part about the damsel in distress, I probs worded what I wanted to say wrong. I know that Gorya hasn't been one. Same as the cliche comment. It wasn't relating to Gorya specifically. Just little things I've seen in the drama. As an example, >>ml does something hurtful or dumb to fl, she gets angry at him, he does the bare minimum to win her back, and she ends up liking him.<< Cliche is like predictability.
And for the acting , I don't think it's really the "acting"/ actors, but the things they say at times just makes me cringe, I don't mean it in a negative way.
As I'm writing this, I've just finished episode 7, and I do see a shift in the characters and I'm starting to understand them better, and even like a few.
I still feel the same about the F4 guys, even if they were not "F4" and just a bunch of guys hanging out, nothing in the story would change. So far Ren and Thyme has had an "identity" out of F4 and Kavin is begining to have his own storyline with Gorya's friend.
I'm a fan of Hu Yitian but why does he keep choosing roles where he has to do the least of acting possible? He always has one facial expression the whole time.
This drama is simply not good. At all. I expected more from both leads of the drama, as I've watched them in multiple other dramas. I'm not sure if it's the fault of the actors or the story itself is bad. 40 episodes for this is way too much for what's happend so far.
The quality of this drama is a solid 10/10. I haven't seen anything so crisp and clear and just pleasing to the eye in a while. But the acting throws off the expirence. It's so cringe. Every thing they do is cringy. At times I can see that the drama wants to be "different", where the main girl is strong and not a damsel in distress, but it keeps switching up and goes back into the cliches.
I don't think any of the characters are that likeable SO FAR. Hopefully they have some development in the coming episodes, especially the F4 guys. Without F4 in the drama, it'll be the same. I don't see their relevance.
This drama is so boring. ATP I'm just watching it to say I've finished it. I'm also super dissappointed because of Song Hye Kyo's expression less and sub par acting, knowing she's one of those veteran actresses. They have 0 chemistry and their characters are way too old to be acting like they can't go on without their parents permission to date. Jang Ki Yong did so well in Guhmio, he could of passed this project on to someone else TBH.
... I really enjoyed watching this drama. It was a great past-time for me , between watching other on-going dramas. ....
But... When I found out Ahn Hyo Seop was casted as the ml I was super excited to see him on screen again. But while watching the drama it felt as if all the side characters' stories were overshadowing him at times, him being the MAIN character. And although it was supposed to be a romance drama, it felt as if the romance storyline was just used as filler for the episodes, then picked back up when convenient/ to show off their visuals ... just my opinion tho The ending ep was cute :)
