Checked out Xiao Zhan's other dramas over the weekend. I'm in the middle of watching 2 of them. The Untamed and Douluo Continent. He's an amazing actor. I was shocked over how different all his portrayals are. And I have to say he brings out the best in all his dramas. I can't keep my eyes off of him. I'm convinced he'd have chemistry with even a broom. lol
Yesterday's views had a new high of 116 million on Tencent. That's crazy to me especially because it's also airing on TV where it also broke its previous record with a new high rating of 0.89 and it even surpassed the ratings of 2 CCTV channels. And this is all b4 the romance even starts. The drama is having an upwards trajectory. I expect it to break more of it's records later on. The drama is doing amazing. Congratulations to The Oath of Love team!
We're only 7/8 episodes in and I'm enjoying it so much! I can't wait for when the romance starts. The story is gonna get so good from the spoilers I've seen. I really cannot wait. If some of you want to see some spoilers I recommend watching the music videos but only if you're ok with being spoiled. There's so much fluff. And we're definitely getting a lot of kissing scenes so I'm looking forward to that. lol
So I was reading some of the novel and I'm so so glad they changed some things for the drama. I'm sorry to novel fans but I would have been bored to tears if it was just like the novel.
Just saw Gu Wei's music video. I'm so flustered. All those fluffy scenes are gonna fill me with cavities. It's honestly so refreshing to watch a Chinese romance drama where the male lead doesn't portray the character as a "cool guy." He's so sweet but also handsome and manly at the same time. I'm not quite sure how to explain. He just makes my heart flutter.
The chemistry between the two leads has me biting into my pillow like a 13 year old girl. lol. I can't help but feel butterflies in my stomach. I love the way you can see them falling in love with each other without them realizing it yet. It's so sweet. I love this kind of romance. A build up from friendship to romantic love. It makes you fall in love with their love at the same time they're falling. Please tell me these two actors have other works together because I can't get enough of them!
It's actually really sad to come here and see people maliciously downrate this drama because of insecurity. I saw someone comment that they gave it 1 star because they didn't like that it had a 9.1 rating. If one person thinks like this, I can't imagine how many more are doing the same. I'm used to seeing good movies and shows be massively downrated because of racist/misogynistic trolls. But this is the first time I see it happen because of jealousy. To come here and see fans of other artists downvote what I honestly think is an extremely well put together drama is just sad. I want to come here and enjoy myself and the plot. And I will continue to do so. But for those of you trying to cause trouble, do better.
I'd also like to say that on a positive note, my sister and my cousins are hooked! And have already bought vip on WeTV to watch the drama. :)
I'm not an anti (I'm waaaaaay too old for that nonsense) and I would have given episode 1 a 5/10. The writing…
Hi. I'd just like to give my opinion as someone who has yet to like a Chinese romance drama. I don't agree with your assessment at all. This is the first time I was able to enjoy a Chinese drama from the get-go. I fail to see where you found said "rough" writing that resulted in you thinking this deserves such a poor score because it's been really smooth since the beginning, imo. But to each their own. I'm on episode 5 and it has only gotten better.
I love this drama. Had to open my first kisskh account to gush over it. From the pace of the story to the dynamic between the different characters everything is flowing so organically and beautifully. I've tried so hard to watch other Chinese romance dramas and they all fall completely flat. No such problems here. And I think that's due in huge part to the lead actors acting abilities. The doctor scenes are portrayed so realistically. And they give great importance to the huge responsibility of what it takes to be a good and responsible doctor. I'm so happy the characters have real depth. There's no weird unrealistic love drama tropes. We actually get to see Dr. Gu Wei and Lin Zhixiao as actual human beings who exist outside of their pending relationship. They make us care for these characters and are laying a strong foundation and building up the relationship between the two leads so when they actually realize their feelings for each other, the audience will be hooked and will fall in love with their love at the same time. I'm also really loving the character development we're seeing in Dr. Gu Wei. He's truly a sweetheart even tho he's still awkward in showing he cares for her. I find it so endearing. Not at all you're typical male lead. And for Lin Zhixiao she was a little rough around the edges at first but her character development has made her more endearing to me. She was really insightful and sweet when she comforted him on the rooftop. I honestly can't wait to see how their story unfolds.
I'd also like to say that on a positive note, my sister and my cousins are hooked! And have already bought vip on WeTV to watch the drama. :)
