Actually if you pay close attention even without the bonus clip no one said definitively that anyone died. The absolutely abrupt ending in Ep 36 really doesn't fit with what we know this drama can do, which in my mind means that Ep 37 was definitely meant to be the full ending, not just bonus. Again, all this happens just cos of the cat-and-mouse game with China censorship. Read our ongoing discussion on the ending in the "Recent Discussions" above if you can stand more spoilers. I'm fully and firmly in the Happy Ending camp, no doubt in my mind - and every time I rewatch the ending I just hear WKX saying 完美 - perfect...........

It also shows in the way they went back and re-edited/re-voiced things post post production based on viewers' feedback. I'm not sure I've ever heard of such an evolving series - it's practically "alive" in that sense.

Apparently there could be an Easter egg/bonus clip in the works for them too............fingers crossed.

IKR - when I rewatched 36 and 37 I could only think of one phrase now forever made unforgettable by WKX - 完美 - perfect!

Just rewatched ep 36 and 37 - has there ever been such a great OTP? After watching them my mind is blank when I try to think of other similar OTPs ...........

IKR - the flowing costume, the flowing hair. And literally he does let his hair down - his acting is at such a different level. I was like whoa, could this really be the same guy who acted as the cold aloof prince with a stick up his ass? I hope he will now have the luxury to never choose to do one of those roles again - or if he does he's able to tell them we can interpret this differently. After seeing his true range here in WOH, just won't be able to see him be one of those stiffs again.

Yes it’s added/developed by the screenwriter so that WKX doesn’t just pop up as some random stalker guy. It gives them a backstory that can be built on to explain the link they feel and that they have intertwined fates. WKX is a long-lost junior.

Encourage you all to drop comments on youku's social media channels. As have said in other comments below, now that the whole series has aired and is therefore quite safe from the chopping board of censorship, they may be more willing to respond to international fans' requests for speedier release. They are reading the comments in their social media cos they responded to mine. And we know that they've responded to viewers' feedback and re-edited scenes etc.

I would encourage you to drop some comments on youku's social media channels cos now that the whole series has aired and is quite safe from being chopped by the censors, they may be able to respond to international fans' requests to speed up the release. And especially cos it would make sense to get it all out before Immortality pops up and divides attention in April.

Yep, there's quite a bit of plot hole there where they keep ZZS in the dark. It seems to be just trying to set up ZZS for a faster-than-expected death so that things can be wrapped up in a certain way at the end......ah well the drama is not perfect, but it's still a gem in so many ways.

Think it was the best ending they could have under the circs. They actually shot happy ending and sad ending, cos they knew censors wouldn’t let them get away with overtly happy ending for 2 guys, but gave themselves a backup depending on fans’ reaction, and looks like in the end they stitched both endings together. And I like the Romeo-Juliet echoes. Given the many shittier endings c-dramaland produces on regular basis for non BL dramas, this one is very acceptable and satisfying.

I loved the ending. Of course WKX would have to sacrifice half his life or whatever proportion it is to save ZZS - it's just most apt and best ending under the circs. I was wondering if they would go and cut out someone's heart like Jin Wang's heart perhaps according to the Yin Yang manual method. But YBY's method works too............

She's not annoying. See AvenueX's discussion in her live stream. When we first see her she's trying to act like a normal girl but goes OTT because she doesn't know how to be a normal girl since she's spent all her life in Ghost Valley. Her true character is very loyal and fierce and straightforward and she comes to understand that there are other things in the world aside from the horrors of the Ghost Valley. Ep 35 is sublime..........you will understand when you get there.
