I saw some comments criticizing the ‘Western fairytale-coded’ style — but first of all, it’s a fantasy. They created a whole new world with different elements Thai and non Thai. How the series to probably will tackle real-world issues, they obviously couldn’t involve the actual Thai monarchy — because in Thailand, saying anything considered negative about it is a crime. Even the royal titles used in the book are different from the real ones. If you’re looking for something historical, Net and JJ will have Luat. But just a reminder: The Next Prince was never promoted as a series about the Thai monarchy.

What I think is: if these were their favorite actors, they’d be calling it perfect. But since they’re not, they look for things to complain about — things they wouldn’t care about otherwise. This episode didn’t even have any side couples… just wait until they show up, and suddenly it’ll be ‘I’m only watching because of so-and-so.’ But of course, they’ll say it’s just ‘constructive criticism
