Actually finished this drama way back in late 2016. Only created my account in early 2017. It's been a while since I finished this drama, but it's so good I just had to leave a comment. I like how the story initially dealt with many minor villains, while slowly dropping hints leading up to the main bid bad villain.
The bittersweet ending. I honestly never saw that coming.
I was really hoping that Ikuo and Mizuki would end up together, and when I appreciated the few tender moments they shared. But I should have known better, and later realised there were lots of red flags thrown in as warnings otherwise (ie Ikuo never responds to Mizuki"s questions about their future)
Tatsuya getting shot....dayum that literally changed everything. His death leads to Ikuo"s suicide, but I Guess that only makes sense. Ouroboros right? It would"nt feel right for one of them to be around without the other.
Overall the drama was spectacular. Amongst the best J-drama's I've seen. The ending too was really great. Not the ending most viewers would"be wanted, but it was the ending we deserved. Then again, that's one of the strengths of J-drama's imo, it does'not kid their audience to give them a fairy tale ending, even if that means a bittersweet and somewhat tragic conclusion
Came in without much expectations, but was pleasantly surprised by how suspenseful it became.
First few episodes took their time setting up the plot but halfway into the series, the plot became so engaging that the I binge drinkers on the last half of the series within a day lol.
The series was special in that its characters were believable, and the usual taboo topic of cheating was treated in such a way that we do not completely scorn the cheaters in this drama. Yes, they were despicable for cheating, but we are made to somewhat sympathise with them, as the series shows how even they are victims of circumstances arising from broken or empty marriages
Possibly amongst the best dramas of 2016, right alongside Ouroboros.
