PROTECT SHIN III AT ALL COSTSNOBODY CARES ABOUT HUMAN SHIN
Human Shin is such an asshole. I only read a bit of the spoilers but apparently he wakes up to become an even MORE colossal asshole. Jeez. Who the hell would root for someone who punches a woman even if it's a PR stunt -.-
IF it's the real Nam Shin, then there's 2 ways he could be walking so quickly:
1. Miracle medicine. The show's done a lot of implausible stuff so this wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility.
2. Robotic leg contraption to help him walk. Nam Shin was always going to take Robopuppy's place so if a situation arose where he had to do it quickly that didn't give him time to heal, his mother could have come up with such a contraption.
3. There's no explanation. This is kdrama world, folks!
I don't understand what the mother is so torn up against... she created Nam Shin Ill to behave like a human, and here he is, behaving like a human: unpredictably. If the only reason she can think of to use the kill switch is that she can't control him, she needs to take a step back and remember that even though she made him as a replacement, this replacement has thoughts and feelings of its own akin to a human, and it would be basically murder to use the kill switch. Not only that, but she'd be killing off the first of his kind.
She can love the real Nam Shin AND Nam Shin Ill without feeling like she's using the robot as a replacement, even though it started out that way. I just hope she comes to realize this before she drives herself to do something stupid especially now that the real Nam Shin is going to wake up.
I gave up around episode 8 but I'm thinking of picking it up again because of that buried story... should I? According to this review I'll have a really bad payoff, but I wonder.
the more this drama goes on the more i can't see what kind of ending they'll come up with. It does seem like they…
Interesting theory but remember in the opening theme both Shins are looking at each other, the robot at the real Shin, and the bedridden Shin (seemingly) awake and looking back, so it's likely he *will* wake up in the near future.
What I hope will actually happen is that the real Shin will find robot Shin *extremely* useful and therefore likeable because robot Shin can continue pretending to be him in the company, while real Shin can shirk his responsibilities and moon around together with his mother, which is what they both want anyway. So Bong can continue protecting robot Shin too.
But yeah, that's just way too optimistic of an ending. Especially considering the introduction of the kill switch and what actions evil!daddy of Yena, Yena herself, and evil!grandfather can possibly take in the meantime.
WHAT???? OMG I'm so very sad for you that you think friendship doesn't exist. That's so tragic. Friendship is…
I kinda understand since it's difficult for me to connect with pretty much anyone... I want to say don't lose hope and you'll eventually meet someone or some people that you'll be able to share and enjoy life with... but I get that's super contrived and probably made you bleaker as you read it.
What I'm trying to say is, even people like *us* can find friendship, even if our social graces make everyone give us the hairy eyeball. It might come tomorrow, or next month, or in 10 or 20 years. But one day--probably at a time when you're not actually looking for it and/or have given up hope for a long time--you'll find comfort in a person or two who will understand you, your sense of humor, what makes you tick, and maybe even have them to lean on during hard times.
PSA: the corrected subs for this movie is merely a smoothing over of the admittedly awful Korean --> Indonesian --> English translation. My Korean friend and I are currently working on this existing subtitle file for an ACTUAL corrected version. You can expect it in under a week (fingers crossed) :D
