That's how I view Akk. If you just watch his interactions with his friends, and parents, he's a totally different…
I’m ok with it too. Akk has actually taken several steps in the right direction, and even though he then retreats, he’s still making progress. He was wanting that kiss so much!
More fantastic acting from First and Khaotung - their emotions conveyed by their eyes, and Akk’s minutely trembling lips before the kiss. When he pushes Ayun away afterwards we know that that isn’t his genuine emotion, but that he just can’t face up to the feelings in his heart and body, and all that they imply. It’s good that the producer dares to make Akk not always likeable, although we do know that he is trying to do what he thinks his parents want. The ethos of the school has changed his essentially sweet nature. He’s starting to be aware of this but doesn’t know how to deal with it.
I love it :D love the drama. But lucky you, usually most are rather "fluffy". So far. Might be changing a little…
@Bonnie Song (I can’t see how to put @ etc in blue! Sorry, fairly new to posting here.) I think the most important thing for me is how deeply the script and the acting of the main characters get me involved in their story. My top favourite is Bad Buddy, which to me has everything (even a gun!): classy acting, humour and fun, but also deep emotions. I like a happy ending, but can occasionally cope with a sad one - I think 180 Degrees is heading that way 😢. To return to this thread, I’ll see how the next episode goes as to whether I’m interested enough to stay with it. I think all that may remain with me is the excellence of the intimate scenes.
I take it you're more into fluffy cutesy bls and you wouldn't like anything like Not Me, Manner of Death, KinnPorsche…
That’s a big assumption. The only correct part is that I was repelled by the sadism in KinnPorsche, though I enjoyed other parts of it. I was very bored by Triage and eventually gave upon it, liked Manner of Death, and loved Not Me, which I’ve watched twice and is one of my favourites. Not sure which fluffy cutesy ones you’re thinking of - if they’re good ones I might enjoy them. What I don’t like is gratuitous cruelty and pain.
But I wonder why In was so horrified by Siam’s revelation? Was Siam’s admission of homosexual love (if indeed that’s what it was) so very taboo? I’d have thought that In would have had some degree of happiness knowing that his love was returned, or could he not admit even to himself that there was a sexual element to it?
I can’t decide if the desire for each that both Wang and In are obviously feeling is going to be consummated. In sees in Wang the friend that he loved (but was it a sexual relationship?), in a younger, more beautiful version, but is it sex with the son that he truly desires? And is In becoming in Wang’s mind the father he has lost? Are they both trying to replace Siam whom they loved? It’s pretty complicated. But I can’t help hoping that they will both find physical love as well as comfort in each other, even if only for a brief time. Meanwhile I’m rather dreading Sasiwimol returning. An interesting character but emotionally draining!
I like this just about enough to keep watching, and Boss is very attractive, but the story and characters really don’t appeal. In the current shows I’m much more gripped by ViceVersa and The Eclipse.
