I know this is possibly far fetched but what if the woman MY sees in the basement is actually kangtae's mother not hers?? and someone ends up moving her into the tunnel afterwards and that's when sangtae sees them and the whole butterfly thing happens

The contrast between the scene in the beginning when MY's father tried to choke her and everyone left her on the ground by herself and went to help her father instead and the scene in the 8th episode when kangtae went to help HER and got her up and asked her if she's okay... that difference! AMAZING!! and what's also amazing that you could see that thought process in MY's eyes without saying anything.. one of the most beautiful scenes in this drama I loved it

I'm commenting a lot this time but I'm really in love with the episode I can't help it... the scene when kangtae's friend asks him if he wants his mother to regret the way she treated him and he says yes and breaks into tears... and the scene where sangtae tells him that the restaurant they used to go to is KT's favorite not his and he breaks into tears holding his brother's shirt and saying he misses their mother..
both of these scenes BROKE MY HEART I cried both times and please can we appreciate how an amazing actor soohyun is his eyes really deliver every single emotion he has it's incredible!!

I like her but her thing with Mun Yeong is sad. She really doesn’t understand anything NOR tried despite working…
we don't know what happened between them yet. I know she's not being fair to MY but don't forget we're seeing things only from MY pov (things that joori know nothing about so she can't possibly feel bad for her like we do) so the only thing she does know is whatever MY did to her in the past. I guess we'll see if it's worth the hate she has for MY eventually.

one of the most adorable scenes was when kangtae gave moonyoung the doll and she was like wtf is this but then he told her the story behind it and she couldn't handle the emotions she felt so she cleared her throat and went like "it's mine now"
I was squealing like a child the whole scene

Yeap, I mentioned this in the comments way back when everyone was disliking her and even called her "crazy" to…

my theory is that the mother was a terrible person for whatever reason and she drove both her husband and her daughter insane.. her husband couldn't handle it and ended up killing her in their basement but even after she died he was still obsessed with whatever she had done to him. His daughter (who looks very similar to her) reminds him of his wife every time he looks at her so he ended up trying to kill her too (when he chocked her in her sleep)
I think they're both victims to the mother but I'm still not 100% sure there are still alot of pieces missing so I could be wrong

one of my favorite moments this episode was when the patient told moonyoung that she's her mother and you could clearly SEE how her whole personality instantly SHATTERS despite not moving an inch or saying a word!!! her acting is amazing!!

yup, it sounds like Pavor nocturnus (ICD 10 GM F51.4). It could be a symptom of PTSD which would mean something…
the thing that caused her trauma is her father trying to choke her in her sleep I think.. we didn't get the full scene yet but we got some snippets and I think it's one of the main reasons
